It doesn't have any cadence sensor built-in. If you're not using a PT crank sensor for cadence, then it's using a firmware algorithm. It senses the pulses in torque and calculates a cadence that way. At low power, it's possible that you had a hop or bounce in your stroke that was outside their pre-determined threshold and caused an extra pulse for each stroke for a few rotations.

You're right though, it's not that accurate :)

True.

I think they claim that it's accurate up to 160 rpm or so. But I did have a little bounce up at 160-180 rpm (or whatever it was)..

spin it...203

Not a good training week! Work plus life plus especially demotivating weather = really low hours. Whatever, it'll be a "rest week." I just have to hit it hard for the next four weeks and taper to my big targets in mid-April. Plenty of time. After this week, winter SHOULD really start to loosen its grip and it'll be easier to ride. In the meantime, I'm going to try for 2x20s on the trainer today.

2 hours with 2 sets of 30/30s and 2 of 15/45s sprinting intervals and I sucked ****! Don't know why but today is just not my day. Got on the trainer, legs were killed and was down a lot on speed from my other 30/30s stuff. I also rode on a seat that was tilted way up (felt like 90*) because it just won't stay tight on my seat thingy that it's on. Then for the last 30 min I went on the rollers and almost fell off( just caught myself on the couch), also, my towel got caught in my front tire while on the trainer......what else..... oh ya I ended up throwing my HR across the room becauase apparently I'm to skinny for it and it was pi$$ing me off. I'm sure there's more but this makes me feel better.. I hate today. /crappy rant.

jsutkeepspining 03-02-13 06:21 PM

i'll get back to training one of these days................. as i look at the online registration for the race i have to miss due to doctor plus parent plus coach advice. ****! but that is all for today, please return to your regular broadcasted show of rkwaki making peepee jokes and ecapp worrying and mikey complaining, and ex making jokes, and hammy making snide remarks, and all you other fools doing what you do.

robabeatle 03-02-13 06:26 PM

Likely scrapping the two races tomorrow as the cold I had has found its way to my lungs...Plenty of races coming up and I’d rather get better sooner.

caloso 03-02-13 06:58 PM

5x5' plus tabatas plus a shot at a Strava KOM = good session.

kensuf 03-02-13 07:23 PM

Boom!

30 minutes zone 1 this morning on my road bike.

and then 90 minutes zone 1.5 on my TT bike this afternoon.

Take that influenza! Now who's your daddy *****es!

Success. At least I've done one thing right this week!

Another 2hr+ race today near 1.0IF. Bout 200 TSS. Did lots of work being marked and trying to keep the group together with no teammates. Then last lap breakaway, plus hard final climb. Solid burnage of the legs after 5 days of about .45IF.

jsutkeepspining 03-02-13 10:40 PM

.... maybe your ftp is a bit higher than you think

Jandro 03-03-13 01:45 AM

Today: 54 mi. Zone 2. Race tomorrow. Weeee.

Yotsko 03-03-13 06:51 AM

RaTwaPM race winning int 2 on friday (one of my fav workouts now), 2x 20' and 45 min tempo yesterday, and about 3 hours of Z2 mountain biking today...3 hours of Z2 on the road is just too cold and boring for me today.

Should make for a solid, nearly 500 TSS 3 day block!

Virten 03-03-13 10:36 AM

Recovery ride ~27 miles

Due to time restrictions, I did those soooo many times last pre-season (2011/2012) that it makes me sick to think about.

I rode my bike. it felt nice. i want to ride it again sometime this week.

also the race i was *****ing about missing was canceled today due to snow.

sstang13 03-03-13 05:17 PM

I did 2 hours today with 5x5 at FTP, since I don't have a PM I just go max every interval, definitely a triumph over yesterdays s**t show. I'll have to do 1 hour @ 100+ rpm tomorrow to loosen up the legs for another FTP test on Tuesday... wish me luck :)

Probably late to the party but how can you do 5x5 at FTP without a power meter? For sure max for 5min will be higher than FTP. Just curious.

Beaker 03-03-13 05:30 PM

Good 2.5h with the House of Pain B ride (medium) yesterday. Wanted to get in and practice dealing with surges, positioning prior to rollers/climbs and conserving. Success on all fronts.

Before the inevitable "man up and do the A ride" comment I know I can get dropped on the rollers by the local P/1/2's - there's a time and a place for that punishment. Unfortunately that time is fast approaching.

jsutkeepspining 03-03-13 05:45 PM

i think i would need a c ride right now! (and i would hae no shame in rolliing with the old people)

mattm 03-03-13 06:44 PM

Have you checked out The "signature" climbs round here yet? Hamilton, Diablo (N & S), Umunhum, Sierra etc.

johnybutts 03-03-13 07:25 PM

Just finished up build 2, week 3. Rest week, then peak week. Then my "A" category stage race. Fitness is here. Just need a bit of luck.
