First 1' intervals since 2011! Was not pretty.
4x1x5: 540W, 580W, 550W, 500W
I was doing the 70% recoveries though, but that doesn't explain the first one that was about 100W lower than expected. Last week I questioned my motivations for doing AWC and VO2 for this block, but now I'm glad I am -- I need to get those systems going again. Week 1 of 3 now... Next block will be base again, I think -- need to look at a calendar again.

2.5hr w/ 4x10min sub threshold @ below than 80 rpms. Legs fill with lactic acid so fast at that low cadence, sucks! Coach wants me doing 53x11 but knees can't take it, so I'm doing more of a moderate cadence.

I feel faster when I am fat….cause my jersey is that much tighter..so, yeah, we're going to continue on with the plan I am on of not riding and focusing on aero rather than fitness.
Good plan?

My 17-month-old daughter saw fit to hide one of my road shoes in her toybox, so no pre-work trainer ride this morning. Lifted instead. Got swooped on by a baby owl on the MTB night ride last night (3 times). I forgot how much fun night riding is.

3 hrs b4 work this morning like a boss. Mainly z2 but ramped the last hour up to z3/4 like it wasn't no thang.
Now im tired and putting off heat. everyone else has a sweater on lol
Also I got rained on for like an hour straight, with a good 15-20 min hard downpour for some major socal HTFU points. Haven't used my rain jacket in a while, I forgot how nice that thing is (showers pass).

45' tempo at 4:45 this morning, watch the season 3 finale of BrBa and can't wait to get up tomorrow to get started on S4.
2x20s @ 90% at lunch. No big deal there, as these aren't really supposed to hurt anyway. All my threshold for this training block is going to be "push" instead of pull.

Earlier in the week I did a tough three day block, followed by a late night Lauryn Hill concert+booze+no sleep. Well you can guess what that has led to: fighting off a cold. It was worth it though: dancing with my lady friend!
