Yeah, but it's cool to see how much faster the pros are. Heck, even showing up to a fast p/1/2 event makes me feel slow, let alone a super cool p/1 event, or a pro only event.

Just finished another big week (for me). Ended up with: 16 hr. 39 min., and 875 TSS. Going to take next week easy.

Another great ride today. This time of year is so perfect here. Didn't even need arm warmers because we started in the city and then rode up the mountain.
My ride is in 2 parts because we did the usual Sunday ride up South Mtn then after a coffee stop, decided to ride some more. I'm still on the borrowed bike but it worked out pretty well for me this weekend.

3 hours of z2, seemed like out and back were both in the wind; sometimes out here we get this crosswind that comes from 8 o'clock to 10 o'clock which just saps the life out. Finished the week at 10 hours, with 4 days of riding. Pretty happy with my numbers considering I was in a wheelchair just 7 months ago.

I did two of those in my last block, and have two or three more in the next one. Bet you've been sleeping well - I did.

Good weekend of riding down in VA.

Some lower back pain due to the torque requirements, but Strava tells me I am doing well enough. Leaf covered trails and mini-knob tires surely didn't help with traction, so I was VERY surprised by how well I did, compared to the local pros.

Two wheel drifting in uphill corners shouldn't happen. Looking forward to letting it rip in the spring-summer timeframe next year, when the trails are relatively free of debris.

Most definitely, as well as leaning out with eating what feels like a ton of food.

The past 3 weeks have been my first block of base. It's been really great. As someone relatively new to 'training', and not having done regular high volume weeks to this point, there seems to be a lot of gains to be made just from the volume and the improved technique which it dictates.

I hate when "that guy" shows up to an otherwise stellar ride.

I hate you and your shorts. My toes were numb for 3 hours during my ride yesterday, it was about 40 degrees, wet and windy here.

Good riding over the past few days.

Wen out and rode up little Tujunga on Friday night(gf schedule stuff so I had to ride Friday). Was pretty spooky I must say, I have 2 very legit lights(seriously the front headlight is boss I can see the whole road). Riding up all I could think of was "if someone pulls up and wants to shake me down for money there is no escape" lol...Good amount of climbing and the descent was pretty good too(maxed out my front headlight, it was probably better than my car light haha.

Overall good few days of training!

I was feeling bad for them with the arm warmers. I may have to wear some on Wednesday, but not again on Thursday.

Cool pic though Jandro.

First skin/ski of the year. Climbed Mad River Glen and ski'd down on 4" of snow - so basically mostly rocks.

do you guys do any kind of additional "training" throughout the day like take the stairs everywhere you go or walk to the grocery store instead of driving.

I've read online about how you should stay off your legs as much as possible being a cyclist to help recovery but I'm wondering if it's exaggerated.

There were days I would ride 80+ miles in the morning and squat 500+ in the afternoon, does that count.

For myself I don't stay off them and do take the stairs but I have an office type job so I am not working on my feet.

I usually get a quick round of cardio in with the lady before falling asleep. Not sure if the 15 seconds helps or hurts though...

I take stairs. I run our dog around the block a couple times/week (my wife is a runner and usually takes him). I do 3 sets of push ups and pull ups a couple times/week. Basketball and/or football with the kids.

I rock climb once a week or so. Need to start doing pushups/dips in the morning before showering. I take the stairs rather than an elevator/escalator whenever possible.
