Ne me juges pas, si vous plait. I'm also at 22.5 hours for the week, so i'm not in desperate need of big rides.

3hrs of outdoor endurance once again. Felt a bit better then yesterday, but still had heavy legs...

Stress really does screw with you doesn't it. Hopefully things settle down over the next few months. At least I'm sleeping like a normal human being once again and without drugs!

3 hr solo ride, went up Kings Mtn road - pretty scenic!

14+ hours for the week, 885 TSS (it's a bit exaggerated since my FTP has gone up I think).

Looking forward to the rest week coming up, then Build! (and race season starting next week)

Just finished 2hrs of primarily z2, about 20' of solid z4 in the middle. Knee is starting to come around.

Up next: 20-30min of torture with my new best friend: the foam roller!

We had a team mock road race. Good turn out, great weather, better than expected fitness. 280ish TSS, some power numbers I haven't seen since summer, and a PR up Cantelow without really trying.

We finished the group ride, it was a tad slow but I'm beyond impressed with her(2hrs at 70W avg). Whenever her HR was around 180(her max is 200 apparently) mine would be about 110 so RPE was galaxies apart when we're riding together. But man she worked HARD today. She stuck with the group and rode in a straight line mostly, calling out debris and other crap.

We come up to a hill that's super steep(10% average grade with 25% sections). She's like "I think I'm going to try that hill"...I told her, "I'll give you $200 if you make it up". I swear I thought she wouldn't even try because it was SUPER steep, I'd have to climb in my smallest gear out of the saddle to make it. To my surprise she attacks at the bottom of the hill and goes at it. I got my camera phone out and rode up behind her trying to record it, mostly fumbled my phone around because it was so steep I could barely hold it in front of me. About halfway up I can tell she's cracked but she doesn't want to surrender. She starts to go a tad slower but presses on. And then...she summits!

This is the segment:

I was seriously impressed. I'm not sure if I'm gonna give her $200 but daim haha!

Rest of the ride was slow as usual but she hung with the group to the rest stop which was great. Supposedly she'll ride with them next Saturday too! I hope it lasts

Alto Velo A-ride. 4th day in a row without short or recovery riding, but felt really good. 75 miles, 280ish TSS. Did both long climbs at about 95% and it felt great. Great finish to my biggest week ever (and finished the "festive 500"). Recovery week. Debating whether or not to put a short hard effort in on Wednesday (hill climb race). Also debating whether or not to retest on Saturday.

Week in summary:
Time: 23:45
Distance: 381 miles
TSS: 1037
Climbing: 24,200 ft
Work: 13,890 kJ

did one of my favorite loops today.

was 34 F when I left, couldn't feel my fingers or toes for half the ride, but was sunny and dry, and PRd a bunch of climbs without even trying using my heavy training wheels, so my legs are ok. only have ~90kms left and two days to finish the Festive500

Big ride. I would've ridden an extra 1.6 miles to make it an even 100 though!
I rode the peninsula today and it was nice and warm. How early did you have to go out to find cold weather?

Finished this week with a grand total of 230km and was one of, if not THE hardest weeks I've had.

Normally 230km is a short week, except this one every km was at the track during our yearly christmas track camp. I've done more sprint and pursuit intervals in the last 4 days than I've done all year I think lol. I actually needed help getting my leg up and over my seat at one point.

yay for 'base' training

Lousy week for riding on my end. Travel for Christmas and then getting sick after visiting nephews and nieces led to only one ride for the week. I'll take it as a rest week and start back up tomorrow.

It's a couple miles from my house to the mup where I start my gps, so I technically did over 100. I just don't count those since I'm just warming up/cooling down. I live inland near Morgan Hill, and it gets colder (and hotter) here for some reason, I'm no weatherman though. After cresting the Santa Cruz mountain ridge, it did warm up quite a bit, but I was still defrosting most of the ride and the only thing I took off the entire ride was my beanie/gloves.

Also rode 25c tires for the first time, they absolutely tore up all the crappy roads and gravel. They're low tpi training tires so don't roll super fast downhill or on flats, but I didn't get them to go fast. Thinking about taking them on some of the trails (which are a little too gnarly for 23c racing slicks) that connect my favorite paved roads.

Tomorrow is recovery, so I'll just wait till it's 68F down here to go outside.

Warmups and warm downs should always count in your TSS.

But, isn't that what we all do here??

Personally I try and get time/distance before I stop at the cafe which is 1.5km from my house. Most days I include the ride home, sometimes I don't... I'm weird that way

Time and distance is included in but isn't a calculation of TSS.

I hope your warm up (and your cool down too) is longer than 1.5k.

If I didn't count my warmups and cool downs (for that matter why count recovery days) I'd be dismissing a fairly significant portion of my overall weekly effort.

Even back in the day when I trained by % in specific HR zones if my training goal was to only spend 10% over 170 I could be either doing not enough in other, equally important, zones. Or alternatively heaping way too much fatigue on in those zones.

TSS is a fatigue figure. If you don't count the things that actually contribute to that number it would seem to be of not much value.

Had a great weekend on the bike...Saturday group ride was faster than it has been due to some visitors. Sunday group ride was in a different part of town....kind of a boring route but with some different people, which made it less boring.

Ended up with one of my biggest weeks of cycling (17 hours).
