2 hour recovery ride this morning, foggy out.

I realize that the start of the race season is a ways out yet, but the way this isn't progressing I feel like I will be lucky if I will be able to race the first part of the season next year. I can barely ride the damned bike easy right now.

As someone who had a medical issue that was checked and improperly diagnosed for years I suggest you see everyone you can. Chiropractors, Doctors, Physical Therapists, etc.

The first appointment I had in August showed that I have an impingment, but it barely shows up on the xray and likely isnt causing any problems. This is according to both the doctor and PT. I had a MRI with contrast that came back perfect. I need to get a copy of the MRI results and maybe have another doctor look at them. I go back to PT next week and have a massage scheduled for Thursday.

Dunno if any of you dudes are in the market for a power meter at the moment, but if you are you can snag a full wheelset with head unit and free shipping for $640 on performance. Ridiculous deal is ridiculous. CycleOps PowerTap G3 Alloy Shimano Wheelset with Joule 1.0 Computer

Been doing 3x per week strength training (body weight only - I'm weak) and z2 & 3 on the trainer along with some drills. Trying to get loner trainer rides on on the weekend. All this while dodging around daughter's basketball schedule which just started getting pretty busy. I'm determined to at least keep up some hours this winter. 5-6 hours is about what I can carve out and even that's tough. Been on it the last two weeks though. Momentum is in my favor so far!
Feeling good with the strength work (just getting over being sore all the time) and can tell I'm firming up a bit and maybe even dropping a little weight (slowly by design). Feeling good!

Friday: 3 miles walking in NYC
Saturday: 6 miles walk to time square and back
Sunday: rented city bike and rode to central park 6 miles one way. On way back, raced with a guy on fixie, he could not drop me while I tried getting aero on 50 lb bike..was fun.
Today my leg shins hurt like hell.

Morning group ride plus Z2 commute. 2.5 hours. Tried for the morning ride KOM again, one guy was already off the front before the climb though and never caught him, so sprinted to tie for second.

Wanted to do something special for Veteran's Day, so I picked a hill circuit, and rolled a 20x sided dice to determine how many repeats I'd do. Landed on 8. #welshtrainingmethodology

Rode today for about 2 hours.
I am trying to build up some base after not riding very much for most of the year, so I am trying to keep it under 20 mph and averaging around 18 to 19 mph. It is pretty flat around here, so this can be done in a meaningful way. I figure that 4 to 5 rides like this per week for 4 weeks should do the job. And being 60 instead of 25 makes a big difference. And it is nice to ride that pace with a friend as it is an easy conversational pace.
That being said I did ride some harder than that today and it felt great. I got suckered into it by my riding partner and eventually he was paying the price.

Last night was a total of 45 minutes at 100% FTP in my friends studio utilizing the Kickr. Each set was a variable timed interval with an increasing grade as time passed. Some were shorter (5 minutes) with a steeper grade and other longer 12 minute interval with not as much grade. Great workout and time for easy recovery ride tonight.

Rode 41 miles monday and 37 yesterday. Starting to educate myself on stuff like CTL, ATL, and TSB and importing my history into Sports Tracks so I can understand where I've been so far and just wanting to ride smarter.
