2 hours on trainer Saturday morning riding a virtual course I rode outside on 10/25. Seemed easier in some places and harder in others. I guess overall about right.

Thinking of trying trainer road and one of their training plans (probably not the base plan, since I consider the whole of 2014 as having built my base), although I don't think I'll be able to take advantage of the virtual power. I imagine experienced folks have little need for pre-canned plans, but I was curious to check it out as a learning tool.

oh man, totally forgot how much strength train trashes your legs. did a pretty easy workout yesterday morning and by last night the DOMS had fully set in and I could barely walk up the damn stairs.

two hours of climbing this morning, feeling better but not getting any faster yet. I'm starting to feel impatient with my strength/fitness, plus it's colder than a witch's tit outside.

At least your cold lets you ride outside still. It was...11? degrees this morning here.

I think I can deal with the mid 30's here, but with 18mph winds, no way haha

Did my first lifting session in five years last night. It was embarrassing lifting silly light weights, but I can still walk today.

Pre-rode the Santiago Time Trial course yesterday in the Santa Ana winds and single digit humidity - temps in the 80s located at the 81 on @Ygduf 's map. The course is 10.8 miles out that starts climbing and finishes with a series of descents and plateaus - my fav TT course. I felt substantial wind on the way out. However, it turned out to be a cross, slight tailwind that turned into a cross headwind riding back after the finish. Due to the low humidity and higher temperatures and dust, I coughed for about 3 hours after the ride. I went to the gym for a light upper body workout and recovery routine.

kwaki posted a circuit workout a while back that uses nothing but bands and body weight. It will make you feel like you got run over by a dump truck the first time or two through it.

An hour and 15 minutes of "power yoga" last night. Tore me up and turns out I'm about as flexible as an old chopstick.

Got up at ****ing 5:30 this morning, rode in at 6 to drop off backpack at work, then headed out for a ride at 6:30.
Only got 2 hours in but it felt pretty good. Not sure I'll do another 20 hour week this week, probably more like 15-16.

530 is early enough for you to curse about it? man, don't move here, getting a long ride in during the summer means getting up at 4:00 a few days a week.

that was basically my daily routine up until a week or so ago when it started getting too damn cold for me (i'm soft). seems like you're training a lot more this year? you're going to crush it next year.

yeah I'm trying to step it up next year for a number of reasons - mostly that I wanna crush locally, and at least survive at the NCC crits.

Tried trainer road today, using the virtual power feature, pretty good stuff. Did an FTP test, 200w (2.84 w/kg), which I had guesstimated in the past. Yeah, you should be impressed lol No where to go but up!
