Woke up at 5:30 this morning to ride. It was dark, windy, and raining but at least it was 60 degrees. Didn't have much time so I just did 3 vo2 hill repeats. Endurance is looking excellent, but power is down a bit. Gotta add in this vo2 stuff more this month.

Left work early to squeeze in a ride before it got dark.
1 hour @ ~110 rpm (avg), though I think my PT is giving high cadence readings lately. But I was spinnin' for sure!!

If you want to ride here in the summer... I am usually on the bike at 0445 and at the end of a 3 hour ride it's almost 100 degrees. I can't imagine waiting longer.
So now that it's winter, I don't have to beat the heat, but I still work for a living and like to be in the office around 9. So that means home by 8. How do I avoid pre dawn riding when sunrise is at 715?
Sorry if I missed some sarcasm in your post, it just didn't make sense to me that you can reasonably never do a pre dawn ride.

100% sarcastic. Low hanging fruit, not a morning person, etc.

Went out after dark for a 40' low threshold climb. Completely foggy and rainy at the top, but barely a sprinkle at the bottom. Beautiful views of silicon valley lights from the hill.
40 miles, 4250 ft and 160 TSS for the day

Criss-cross threshold intervals this morning. Not looking forward to a weekend of rain and 40 degrees, unfortunately may end up inside doing long intervals

Yesterday I rode for an hr at lunch on an mtb:
High 60s, constant drizzle/light rain, fully rigid 26" SS mtb, estimated 50tss, tons of fun. I rode on fire roads/super wide trails only, I wasn't out there trashing nice single track in the rain.
I felt like a little kid on that ride, getting all muddy and purposefully splashing through puddles. It was very enjoyable.

Been fighting off a nagging ear infection and a cold. Been super tired and head-achy. Took a couple days off this week to try to recover a little bit.

Was planning to do 2x20's but instead spent 15 minutes patching a flat. The 3d in 3 rides. Combination of wet, crap filled streets and tires getting on to the end of their usable lives. Bleh.

Woke up and rode the trainer for an hour this morning before dawn. It sucked. I'm very motivated to get in my training outside and later in the day.

When I started riding I preferred night because I didn't want to get up early, but the stronger I got the more friends I made who ride early so I started getting to the 530am rides which requires leaving home at 445 and just got used to it.
Honestly it sucks for the first ten minutes I'm up but then I like being up early. I don't have a social life as you can probably guess from my attitude around here, so going to be at 8pm doesn't bother me either.

My Scott, I took it into the shop for the headset. He was like "do you ride in the rain?"
Anyway, the lower bearing was seized, and seized to the fork. At the end there I could hold the bike sideways and the wheel wouldn't turn on it's own.
