Thanks for that. Its about what I figured. I put in the request for VT1 and RCP.
Daniel did 15:36 last week getting ready for Chico and his longest stage race ever. IMO VO2 max is low on the list vs. being able to get up the next day and do it again. I don't know a better test than just doing a Stage Race. Hopefully he can just follow @mattm and get an easy ride.

15 recovery-ish pace with a handful of jumps at the end. Only did an hour of riding yesterday, including warmup. Not very tired today just a little soreness from the efforts Sat & Sun to work out.

Traveling for business, no opportunity to ride. Ran 3 miles on hotel gym treadmill. Given that indoor workouts are torture and running sucks, I can only assume I've acheived my bona fides as a masochist.

Was gonna do short workouts today and tomorrow. After a very hard weekend of racing, rested yesterday and went to dinner with my dad who is in town for work. Slept 6.5 hours, got up, legs still felt quite sore! Figured I've reduced training for a couple weeks now and one Wednesday workout would be best so went back to bed. Tough choice but I think it was the right call. I'll have plenty of time after Chico for more training.

5x5' VO2 at Fiesta this morning. 112%.
On #4 , a large pack of riders and a few cars entered Fiesta at the same time, wtf. I had to coast for 10+s, but I rode an xtra 30s and was able to fight my way back to the bottom of my zone out of anger.
On #5 , I was hurting, barely able to hold 109%, but was able to will myself back above 110% with a monumental effort in the last 45s.

7x3 vO2max on the trainer, in the south pacific. It really helps to be able to use visual landmarks for the start/end of the intervals.
Got lapped by a certain finkraft rider who is just piling on the trainer miles, like over 400 miles a week. Also found myself stuck on Lawson Craddock's wheel for like 5 minutes between intervals (he's recovering from some broken bones I think).
Weird world.

Today was easy. Tomorrow is hard, and the day after is just as hard but in a different way.
Almost through with 30 Rock...just in time for new House of Cards.

Over here I'm not quite sure what to do for my workout tomorrow. I'm in the last week of a training block and would like to do something that pushes my FTP after today's VO2 workout.
Option 1: Experiment with some over-under 2x20's
Option 2: 2x20's at ~97%
Option 3: 90min tempo interval at ~80%
I'm leaning toward Option 3, as I know it will be a reproducible effort that will net some solid TSS. If I was earlier in my block I would for sure go for Option 1 as I've been meaning to try over-under's; I've never done them.
Hmmm.

Leg work at the gym. I'll know tomorrow if that was a good move or bad move.

I don't have a ton of time during the week so I do a lot of zone 3 power training on trainer road to get my base. At what point do I shift away from this and do more zone 4 and 5 work? I'm working up to where I can ride daily at 10 hours a week and can probably hit 12 hours. I'm a chubby one so honestly if I could do 12 hours of zone 3 I'll probably be able to tt to top 10's being I live in a flat area...

March 28th. I was thinking of 1 more week of grinding then start moving to more sweet spot zone 3 with a day or two of chase down efforts. Next race is a crit a month later. Everyone is usually out of shape for the first race anyways so if I can push the pace like last year I'll just wear everyone out (broke a 40 person race down to 8 by end).
