Plus, Grumpy did it last week, and why should he have all the fun.

My buddy regularly is doing 4+ hour trainer rides...I don't know how he manages it. 2 hours and I have had enough.

Toady is the first time I will be able to ride outside in 3.5 weeks!! I feel like a kid in a candy store! Although it is still only going to be 24 degrees, the sun is at least shining!

I can ride outside everyday all year but I prefer the rollers for my interval workouts.

I just don't get it, I mean I like bikes because much outdoors, many fresh air. I rode in the trainer once and decided if that's what I had to do to ride a bike I would just go back to being fat and find a different hobby. Seriously, it was that bad to me.

Didn't @shovelhd get a pair of those fancy rollers and not like them? I might be misremembering.

I watched the first 5 episodes of Bosch. Good trainer fare.

I think part of it is location. If I lived somewhere where it didnt get to -15...like somewhere far South or West, I probably wouldnt use the trainer nearly as much. In the meantime though, its -9 this morning so I will be on the trainer today

Me too. I hate the trainer just as much as you do. But racing is all about comparative advantage. Guys like gsteinb and TheKillerPenguin who have been embracing the trainer for months while everyone else is the northeast is moaning and procrastinating will come into the season with a huge advantage, and everyone else will be playing catch-up.

I liked them. They were the best rollers I have ever ridden. I just decided that I get a better workout on the KK. This is not to say that most everyone else cannot. It just didn't work for me.

This isn't always the case in the Masters fields. There will be a greater range of fitness in the early races, which will be gone by May. On the flip side are the guys who do training camps in January and February.

That would be the goal. As much as I hate the cold weather, like gsteinb, shutuplegs, dz_nuzz, and a few others I am embracing it for the competitive advantage it yields. That most people consider all the trainer time crazy is a good thing.
