I despise the trainer, like any red-blooded American who is not a sociopath or from New Jersey. Since the temperatures this February have been completely ridiculous, the trainer was starting to think it was better than me, so I had to assert my dominance by crushing its spirit with a 5+ hour ride.
Plus, Grumpy did it last week, and why should he have all the fun.

My buddy regularly is doing 4+ hour trainer rides...I don't know how he manages it. 2 hours and I have had enough.

I've said this a million times, but few of you guys listen These are the difference
I couldn't last an hour on a rear wheel trainer, and I had a computrainer.

Toady is the first time I will be able to ride outside in 3.5 weeks!! I feel like a kid in a candy store! Although it is still only going to be 24 degrees, the sun is at least shining!

I just don't get it, I mean I like bikes because much outdoors, many fresh air. I rode in the trainer once and decided if that's what I had to do to ride a bike I would just go back to being fat and find a different hobby. Seriously, it was that bad to me.

Didn't @shovelhd get a pair of those fancy rollers and not like them? I might be misremembering.
I watched the first 5 episodes of Bosch. Good trainer fare.

I think part of it is location. If I lived somewhere where it didnt get to -15...like somewhere far South or West, I probably wouldnt use the trainer nearly as much. In the meantime though, its -9 this morning so I will be on the trainer today

Me too. I hate the trainer just as much as you do. But racing is all about comparative advantage. Guys like gsteinb and TheKillerPenguin who have been embracing the trainer for months while everyone else is the northeast is moaning and procrastinating will come into the season with a huge advantage, and everyone else will be playing catch-up.
