I felt great today, except when I hit the hills didn't really have any energy in the legs. So it goes.

I do an ECG each morning then do a Fourier transformation on the data to assess changes in heart rate variability.

My sis in law measures BP/HR 2-3x daily (latter when measuring former) due to high blood pressure. She's a super fit lean athlete so the high BP is weird.

It's not useless; but it doesn't have much impact on my training either, since I don't really need an app to tell me if I slept like crap the night before.

I already had a BTLE heartrate monitor so I bought this app to try out. Given the price of some of the other solutions for measuring HRV, I can't help but be a little skeptical of whether ithlete is the real deal or not. I've found that training load doesn't seem to have much impact on my HRV reading ithlete; but what does is whether I got a good night's sleep or was up too late and didn't sleep much.

If anyone is curious -but isn't ready to pay anything- there is a free android app call Stress Test by Azumio you can play around with.
Daily ECG analysis and metabolomic profiling will be the dope of the future for very rich teams. Sky should buy me a LC-MS-MS

been having a little bit of knee pain lately. it's not during the ride, but always after the ride, sometimes a day after, maybe even two. I can feel it if I'm getting up from a sofa and using my knees. I can never feel it on the bike while I'm pedaling, but have felt it after a long hard ride, and then standing up to pedal home. the feeling is dispersed throughout the joint. Is this a problem or no?

so i got poison ivy last week, i'm very reactive to it and it spread everywhere on my body. went to the doc and was put on prednisone. this **** is nasty, i've gained 6# in 5 days, havent slept more than a few hours at a time, and cant eat without getting heartburn. plus, this stuff requires a TUE, which i'm in the process of obtaining. with these negative side effects, i cant imagine it to be performance enhancing.

yikes, sorry to hear that
then again, this might just mean that you aren't going to the right doc

Coming off a double rest day. I think today is a good day to test. Ugh.

Felt pretty good on the commute today. The rest of this week should take care of that. Preparing to pummel my body into submission.

I went down to Tucson with some friends yesterday to ride Mt Lemmon. I ended up with my biggest day of climbing: 6 hours, 90 miles and 11k feet. Some of our group did 2 climbs but I'm not in shape for that. A few of us did the full climb then back down half way and climbed again so we could all regroup at the top for food. It was a really awesome day, perfect weather, beautiful scenery and good friends!

Different kind of steroids. Anabolic steroids are performance-enhancing. You are almost certainly taking a glucocorticoid, which is a catabolic steroid. It is a negative to performance. I your side effects are terrible, you should talk to your doctor. There is no one dose/treatment protocol for glucocorticoids, both of these are commonly adjusted based on side effects.
