Atta boy!

I was a little surprised to see McEwen all the way in tenth place. I'll bet that doesn't happen again tomorrow.

GO TOM BOONEN!

Looking at the photos and forgive my ignorance but are there any elevation changes in this race? Or is it simply hundreds of KM in the desert then a sprint?

I was wondering the same thing.

cyclingnews: "The race is characterised by flat, fast and windy stages, with the general classification typically decided by small margins".

The perfect way to get in shape in the early season.

It is clear to me now, that Tom Boonen is going to win every race this season.

Awww yeah!

GO TOM (I won two sprints in Qatar, and all I got was these lousy bookends) BOONEN!

Boonen is definitely a monster in the making. I think he will be a viable candidate for the green jersey at the Tour next year - maybe even this year, but definitely next year.

I bet he's going to have an April to remember. I've got him down for Paris-Roubaix, but wow, there's an awful lot of good sprinters. McEwen, Petacchi, Zabel, Hushovd, O'Grady. Then you've got a great list of classics hunters like Rebellin, Friere, Hammond, Valverde. And then you've got great all arounders like Cunego and Bettini. Going to be a great year and great Spring to follow. Hope Cippolini can get one last taste of glory too.

Damn, but CSC looked strong on Stage 3.

Was there a single member of the team that didn't make that break? And 6 riders in the Top 8? Yoiks!

Tom got dropped like a bad habit.

They're riding Cervelo R2.5 Bayonnes if I'm not mistaken. One of the lightest bikes in the peloton, and they did well in heavy winds? Wow.

I liked this:

Team CSC's director Alain Gallopin agreed with Peeters that "Boonen seems alarmingly strong..."

He has said he wants to be the next Museeuw. And I don't think he means he wants a cute perm.
