Yeah I think so. I have Fouche Gap on my Calendar as of right now. Will give the official yay/nay closer to the race date.
Planning on hitting at least one or two of the TN omniums this summer when they come up.

i work hard, and i have luck. Hopefully the points will take care of themselves.
Also my post was half jest, i'm not stressing over points. I would like them, but i know that i have a tiny bit of time before i need to start crying that i don't have my 1 upgrade!
I should be racing in a week, but honestly i'll probably miss the race just due to not wanting to drive 3 hours to race while trying to catch up on missing assignments (i've missed far to many days this month due to sickness/model un/other school ****, so i have like 5 tests to make up. I also have to miss a couple more days if i'm thinking of the right date). Oh well t'is life. <3 u all, you stupid mother duckers

Barf, barf, barf, you two.
Cool. A teammate and I have Fouche Gap penciled in, looks like a tough finish. See ya there.

No 2013 races yet he in New England, but here's my prediction: pack fodder.
Having a new baby boy more than makes up for that, though.

Teammate was taken out of the 50+ in the last lap, but he missed the cholla and is okay. I missed it this year (nursing fractured ribs), but was run into the sand last year trying to go around people for the sprint when there wasn't really quite enough room. I avoided the cholla, however. I grew up in San Diego, where there is also lots of Cholla. I have 1337 cholla avoidance skillz.
I was at the race (cat 4) but not used to the narrower, packed road. They changed the course from last year, so it's a downhill finish on the narrowest part of the course. I spent a lot of time in front, then gave up on the last lap. A bad night's sleep and an uncomfortable course with cactus along side and sometimes hanging INTO the road will do that. Pack finish for me.
See you at VOS? Hope your ribs get better! What happened?

Don't yell at me. Cherry Pie W Cat 4, 23rd of 25. NP of 178. It must go up! Even so, it's hard racing with (grand)children.

I'm finding the stronger you are, the fewer race smarts you need. The more race smarts you have, the less strength required. There's always someone stronger.

In my case, that's almost everyone in the crits I do. That applies to the "smarts", too. The Senior Games may tell another tale, I just don't know (yet). It's my second season, my second (ever) crit.

Last year was my first year and I'm amazed how much I learned over the course of the season. I can imagine how much more clever the guys are that have been doing this a few years...

I have a friend who's a former state champ and has been racing forever. Even when he's not in particularly good shape, he never ever ever gets dropped.

Guess that wasn't you I was cheering for then Oops! Some other guy in a Faster kit, hopefully named Jim.

I crashed at the UCSB road race in Santa Maria on 1/26. "Ribs 3-7 fractured/displaced, and a 25% pneumothorax". I'm doing the TT and the RR (on my back up road bike, a huge steel thing, since I won't have my replacement frame until late tomorrow), but skipping the crit to protect the ribs for another week. Current plan is to be back in the crits for the Focus GP.

Big long climbs tend to negate smarts. But more than once I've been in pretty mediocre shape and made and stayed in the winning break. It helps to have a rep as a crusher of soles because folks are a lot more cautious about attacking if they think you can counter them into oblivion.

If you weren't pulled on a tough race and it was only your second crit, you're doing fine!

There is another tall Faster guy named Jim, so it could very well have been him..
