Getting excited over 1 watt

so I do a threshold test and increase my personal best by one whole watt, since I feel I am already at the upper end of my physical limitations there is some excitement in that. that is my story and today I realized just how pathetic my existence has become. I should sell my PM now before it gets any worse.

sure did. i know it is in the range of error but it was done on my indoor trainer and as a double check my distance over the hour also increased a whole .2 km/h so it is pretty legit. still sad though really that this is what my life has come to.

In the OP's defense, it was a *very* large watt.

Well, maybe it was reading 2% low (within power meter specs). So maybe it's actually 1w + 2%? Look on the brightside.

Hand wringing about FTP is like complaining you can't play basketball because you are too short.

For some of us that's a legitimate excuse, ok?

Only if you are short, and slow, and can't shoot or pass or dribble... but those last ones would just mean you don't practice. Last I checked, that wasn't on the valid excuse list.

If you race as well, FTP isn't going to decide the winner.

Your FTP could be 500 but if I push you in the ditch before you jump it's useless...

An 'ignored' Waki post followed by a face palm. What a shocking sequence.
