I just started cycling a month ago and wanted to do a race and figured a time trail would be a good way to start. I entered on my caad 10 in the standard category. I was pretty happy with myself even though I really did not do that great. It was a 20k I did it in 38.37 at 19.70 mph
I starred off at a comfy but higher pac. I did not want to push to heard at first and did not know what to expect but next time I am going to push harder. I feel i could have done a little better. My legs just aren't there yet but my cardio is not a issue at all. Overall I was very happy with myself and had fun.
