The whole thing may have been avoided if you had protected your wheel a bit better. Whenever you are on an inside or outside line in a corner in the field, yellow line or not, you need to protect it. This means sensing when others may try and take your wheel and make yourself wider. In your instance I would have slid over closer to the inside giving yourself more room to work and shutting the door on the other rider.

Agreed. Also, many will argue/discuss the issue with the motorcycle ref in situations when there is no avoiding it. Like a 60-70 person field, yellow line rule, x-winds, yeah right, impossible to keep from going over at times by people for a multiple of legit reasons. Inadvertant or even deliberate stupid moves by people forcing somebody over the line in some situations, need some sensibility applied by the officials.

Down in FL, they are pretty good about giving warnings, but some days, there is no leeway. Just have to listen at the start of the race when getting briefed how the day will go.

Even then, many people won't move to the back of the group until they argued the case with the motorcycle ref. Often it takes a few DQ threats...haha.
