Who are you rooting for this year?

Funnily enough, I'm looking to the yanks this year for some good wins. I'd really like to see both Horner and Julich do some damage this season - this is a big year career-wise I think for both of them. I've always thought both were class acts and I love their style of riding. Julich seems a tad more humble and I'm hoping 2004 was the springboard to some big rides this year - especially when he gets in sync with Voigt. I also wanna see Horner put some major hurt on the rest of the peloton

hincapie, horner, floyd, Lance, cunego, mayo, and most of all, Mario Cipollini (sp?). Not to hijack this thread and make it about tyler, but IF he is cleared, i would love to see him make a comeback and get some wins.

Rooting for the man that people dismiss too easily: Chris Horner. He's paid his dues. I hope he wins something big this year.

Cipo'... in the twilight of his career.

Julich... super nice kid started racing on the 7-Eleven junior development team in the 1980s. Talk about paying your dues...

Julich would be my sentimental favorite and I'd like to Levi do something big this year. I would love to see Basso win the Giro with Cunego second and Simoni somewhere in 100th place.

Specifically I would like to see Beloki comeback to where he once was. More challengers to Armstrong the better.

Also: Danielson, Horner, Hondo, Bettini, Mencebo, Valverde, ULLRICH, Popovych.
And a little Italian named Emanuele Sella.

I want the TdF podium to have Ullrich, Armstrong and Landis on it.... I don't really care who wins, but I want it to come down to the final time trial...

Landis will definitely win the Tour this year. The good TT he had and that one mountain stage where he came in fourth place absolutely blew me away.

Someone up there mentioned Mercado...man that guy is one talented spaniard...and at such a young age already has stage wins in the Dauphine, Vuelta, and Tour de France. Postal/Discovery tried to sign him just before he signed with Quick Step. He could be a threat for the Tour podium if he ever builds his stamina to withstand three weeks of racing. He always seems to have a bad day or two that just destroys his GC. That said...he's only like 26. I remember him in the Dauphine last year on the stage that was a mountain time trial....where he managed to finish ahead of Lance on that stage.

I hope to see Chris Horner get a chance to do the tour. If I remember correctly he never did the tour when he rode for La Francias des Jeux(spelling?). Anyone know if Saunier Duval-Prodir has any plans to put Horner in the Tour?

I can't tell if you people are being sarcastic with me or if you actually think I'm being serious about Landis.

I'm really interested to see what Basso does. He really has a lot riding on this year, however it turns out.

Landis is the real deal! C'mon..didn't you see him riding with Lance in the high mountains last July? Didn't you see him do a great time trial? Didn't you see him in the leaders jersey at the vuelta? Hasn't he been mentored the past few years by one of the greatest cyclists of all time? Hasn't he ridden the past few years for one of the best teams in the world?...with perhaps the best director out there? Didn't you see how he helped his team in the team time trial at the Tour de France? This guy can really break some legs. No sarcasm!!!!! He is a real tour contender. If Lance slips even one inch...Floyd will be there to steal this tour. This is going to be Lance's hardest victory. His 7th win is very very very uncertain. Floyd's time has come! You thought Tyler was a serious contender.....but wait until you see Floyd ride the tour this year.
