Shoot, they could have biked you over on a stretcher faster than that. 40 min for an ambulance when they have a station around the corner is rough, especially when you're likely in a world of hurt.

thx dudes!
sounds like I'm off the bike 4-6 weeks, not too bad really.
cascade is out but so it goes. I'm glad i try not to take my uninjured moments for granted, makes this phase easier.

Crap mattm. Heal up fast. I'm not surprised you have the right attitude about it.

It looked like was pulling out of the race so I didn't think he would be hanging around for next 30 minutes or so until the end.

Damn man way to have an awesome attitude and 4-6 weeks isn't bad at all for injuries like yours. Not that I know anything about breaking your back but it sounds super gnarly.

sorry to read, mattm. 4-6 weeks given those injuries sounds pretty fortunate, all things considered.
glad to hear the positive perspective.
hope you will return to form soon. that's a helluva way for you to give someone else a shot in that CCC crit.

thx! even tho I double-checked all the field sizes/etc I'm nervous CO will turn me down..
also, it felt weird to hit that upgrade button for the last time! "upgrading" has always been my motivator, now it'll just be "winning" i guess.
