amateur bike racers driving 2hrs each way just to get pelted with driving cold rain. smh...
Once i got up at 4:30am just so that i can ride 1 hr in the cold rain to Prospect Park in Brooklyn (from 110th street in Manhattan ) and then racing in the same damn cold rain. It was so damn cold i took the subway home and was shivering from 9am until noon time. I vowed to eschew from partaking in such stupidity from then on.
ooph, sorry to hear that. hope you have a speedy recovery

Kind of a race result, well more like a summary of my season so far. In with the big dogs, I'm excited and nervous at the same time

Thanks guys! I figured I would post that up seeing as in the next few months my races will mostly end in pack fill and or exploded performances. Knowing that I am racing with the 1/2s has already re-motivated me to get back after training which is a plus.

I've yet to pin a 2s number on. I felt the opposite, like I achieved a goal and needed a break. Though I've been racing since 1/1, so maybe it's coincidence.

I felt the same as misterwaterfall when I first got upgraded. 6 months later I felt like you, and like I had achieved my goals which has kind of let to my break.

Prologue to my local racing series. Cat 4/5 1st Place
We had a Merckx style, 3 Mile TT to open up the series. The wind was blowing 10-15 MPH with a ton of pollen in the air. I ended up putting out 10-15w less than what I think I'm capable of, but ended up averaging 330w and 26.2 mph. My finishing time was 6:56, and within a few seconds of the Cat 1 who won the Cat 1/2/3 bracket. I think the win came down to a solid start and turn-around, and the ability to maintain a good aero position without aero-bars. In training, I typically average 28 mph at 330w on a flat with no wind.
Hopefully I can maintain my lead, and win the series overall.

I also have the advantage of 2/3's fields and 2's-only races around here, something WA never seemed to offer.
Hopefully you'll do Cascade this year and we can kick it in the 2's field together.

We'll see how the season progresses, with the 5 day format it makes it kind of tough to make it down there with getting all of that time out of work
