FYI Plainville's moved to Sundays.

I still have the two Sundays on the schedule (Mar 29, April 12), waiting to hear from a potential sponsor before naming them. This means waiting to do permits, BikeReg, etc. Schedule will be similar to Bethel. I'm going to link to the events from the promotion company page which is Carpe Diem Racing. Scroll down to the events bit for info/links. I've bought some domain names but I don't know what name I'm going to use.

Confirmed title sponsor about 30 min ago. Tomorrow I'll finalize names and do permits, BikeReg, etc. Sponsor contact suggesting awarding jerseys so I'll be asking for them as well.

Also possibility of two more weeks of events, making it a 4 week event. Totally unconfirmed at this point.

Not moving forward was really killing me, I didn't realize how much until I started thinking of all the things I can do now to move forward.

I see two South Jersey Training series in March, on the same days, 15 miles apart. Anyone have experience with either of them?

Anyone know the status of the Berkshire classic? Seems like the organizer's site is expired, don't know if it's defunct for 2015

From some slightly inside info I got from another race promoter, I wouldn't draw any conclusions about races in 2015. USAC has changed a bunch of rules regarding insurance and permit requirements and they have also been very slow in updating forms and stuff.

I heard similar, one of the promoters in my club was talking about that. Has something to do with extra insurance needed on State designated roads or something. Apparently may force us to move some TT courses to county roads instead, no way we can afford the extra cost.

I'm considering trying the KSR (I know, I'm a crazy noob, also intrigued by the green mtn stage race as well), stupid question, what kind of CTL should one try to aim for when doing such an event? Obviously it's no predictor of success, just want to be sure I've got a level of fitness to tackle such a thing

I think the answer is ctl doesn't work like that.

its not an indicator of how fast you are.

even power numbers won't tell you if you are "ready". you just have to take the leap of faith and go.

Anyhow, I'm going to keep an eye on this one, definitely happy with my winter training so far.

Oh, I meant CTL as far as fitness to handle three days of racing in a row and not be completely spent before the end

as our benevolent overlord @gsteinb, peace be with him, mentioned in the other thread. Depends. Obviously don't go in under 60, but it depends.

former. I imagine someone else will step into the breach but that's typically accompanied by a period of increased scrutiny, infractions, bans, and someone quitting the board.

I've done KSR a few times and it has never been easy. I'd want to have the kind of fitness where a 4 hour ride doesn't seem all that long.

That's getting closer to what Ctl is about, but you could have a big CTL and only do rides every other day... so it's still no guarantee.

The best way to make sure you're ready for three days of racing in a row is to do three days of hard training (better, racing) in a row.

Also, if there's a crit/TT day like there is with most stage races, that's hardly a "big" day until you're really out of shape.

Does anyone know if there is a general calendar of events scheduled and/or proposed in CT specifically or the northeast in general? NYSBRA puts out a good calendar, not perfect, but good and I have not been able to find the equivalent for CT or the northeast. Does it not exist?

Nebra.us. The calendar gets put together around the time of the annual meeting. Cross just ended so that's next. In the meantime yiu can use the results page on Bikereg to guess.

If CTL can't indicate anything, what's the point? It should be a measure of one's fitness. Speedo measures how "fast" you are. All the training we do measures how "strong" you are.

What has your CTL been when you were in peak form in the past? As someone said here 60 is probably a good floor for a difficult SR. Plenty of people using WKO and TP have a CTL in the 80-100 range when they're in the thick of things. I THINK part of what Matt might be getting at is that CTL is based mainly on FTP (and also the user defined half life of old workouts) and it assumes that your FTP is pretty accurate. Also, having a high CTL or good numbers in training has no bearing on your competition.
