The hill and the 180 are the main features. Good solid VO2Max power is needed for the hill, and good bike handling skills for the 180 and the chicane before the final turn. I took 3rd the last time I was there, getting beat up religiously by the bazillion time NC and his minions. Marked in dayglo paint.

Cape Cod Cycling Club does run rides. Check their Facebook page. I'm on the wrong part of Cape and can't ride with them. No road races though. Only cross.
Also, no technical guide for the Catskills yet? What gives?
If we have nobody to hand up food/water in feed zones, we are outta luck right? Or is there neutral anything? Equipment choices for the TT can't change this close to the race anyway but I'd still like to know what's legal or not.
Also the sprint/Kom spots, are they on the first or second lap of the circuit? Minds need to know.

Man, I wish people could just ask nicely for once. What happened to that? Geez...
The technical guide is always published one (1, uno) week prior to the race to prevent revisions, etc. Look for it this Friday...
There will be neutral water on Sunday and we hope to have it Saturday as well.
Sprints are on both laps of the circuit race.

We do the same thing for Hilltowns. It prevents revisions, and the officials want to look at the final version only in the week previous.

has anyone ridden the current iteration of the catskills TT? I have no freaking idea how to pace a tt that is uphill for the first half then downhill on the way back...

Yes; it was difficult for me to know how to pace it last year, but at the time I was not strong enough to pace it right under the best of circumstances anyway. Rolling uphill to the turnaround with some nearly flat sections and a couple of small downhills, very fast coming back. I believe the trick is to pace it so that the first two thirds (after the turnaround it's a bit flat for a bit) is harder than the last third as the last third is more downhill than the rest of it. That isn't to say you should ease off, but there's more utility in putting out watts going uphill or on flat ground than there is downhill since 300w might = 35 and 350 might = 36, and I know I can't do the same wattage downhill even when Mercury is in retrograde and my chakras are aligned.

get in a very good warm up so your legs aren't blocked. don't go above 10% ftp for the uphill section
