Right, because I jump into established conversations with a 3 letter acronym and absolutely nothing else to add to the discussion.

Nailed that one, homie.

Apologies if it wasn't you. I'd go back and find out who, but, yeah, internet forum and all.

You can't copy and paste because I didn't say it. That's the point.

You've already addressed it? And yet here you are making erroneous assertions about what I'm "shocked and appalled by"? So are you just clueless or are you just being blatantly dishonest?

You're 4 pages into tilting at windmills. Yeah, shocked and appalled. I could go through and pull out to 'dumbest thing ever' posts, and all that, but you're right and everyone is wrong. One thing is clear is as a mod I'm telling you that you'll need to amp down the things that side towards personal attacks and name calling. As a guy with a 1 on his license (current) I'm not that concerned with your race cred. A bunch of guys have it.

As to anything regarding testing at levels lower than nationals….folks have deemed it important. You can piss in the ocean with them over their reason, but I've better things to do. They've raised money for it to happen, and it's happening. They're catching guys too, so I suspect it'll continue. I, like you (and others here), didn't thing it particularly necessary or a great idea but I'm smart (and clean) enough to not waste too much thought and things I'm not changing (or that doesn't impact me).

But hey I'm just clueless and/or dishonest.

I was a one before you were a one.

As a mod, can you tell me how to stop bleed through...I still have to read quotes from people on my ignore list.

Rocking out to this will calm the nerves.

They call me Mr. Knowitall
I will not compromise.
I will not be told what to do.
I shall not step aside.
They call me Mr. Knowitall
I have no time to waste.
My mouth it spews pure intellect.
And I've such elegant taste.
They call me Mr. Knowitall.
I sup the aged wine.
Oh I could tell such wonderous tales
if I should find the time.
I must be Mr. Knowitall
For ideas they come in bounds.
I am Mr. Knowitall
So spread the word around.
They call me Mr. Knowitall
I am so eloquent.
Perfection is my middle name
And whatever rhymes with eloquent.

That's what I find crazy, that you'd have to even worry about something like that.

If you're going for national titles or worlds teams or pro races or something where people are trying to make a living, then right on. But this is a hobby for the vast majority of us and having to go to such an extent to ensure you're not accidentally using a banned product is a bit ridiculous.
I would wager that some on this board juggle around a lot more than those racing for a living. I would also venture to say that some here put in just as much effort and dedication(if not more) to win the local series than some pros do in grand tours.

I admit, it is a crazy hobby but none of us want to be robbed from our Wednesday night glory stepping on a wooden box, pics with iPhone,5$ and a hug from the wife kids by a cheater.

Edit:come say hi at the music city crits!

Well, yeah, and my point remains the same. It's voluntary. If you refuse, they'll suspend you from USAC events (and perhaps affiliated orgs), but that's the extent of their reach.

Of USADA's reach, yes, but it could lead to criminal prosecution if your case was interesting enough.

From a refusal? I don't think that would be enough to merit any police involvement.

Maybe if you refuse by beating up the USAC guy on your step.

I very rarely call people names. I describe people's posts and their apparent lack of reading/thinking regarding said posts, but I don't sit around and just brazenly call people names all the time.

You could go through and pull out those posts and I could then point out how you're misreading them if you'd like, but shocked and appalled about amateurs being tested?

You can't pull that post because it never existed. Probably because I've done lots of races of amateurs being tested and it has NOTHING to do with my point about being tested at a state road race.

Here's the deal; I may be right or wrong, I have no problem with that and if I'm wrong I'll say it.

The problem with some of these posters, and something you've exemplified with your errant assertion about "shock and awe", is that you make up things and then claim I'm wrong about the thing you made up.

Hence the reason I continually ask for a quote and why no one ever has one.

I couldn't care less if folks have deemed it important. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything otherwise. I have my opinion about the matter and you're not going to change it, nor I yours. I'll debate up and down about it because so many people are incapable of actually reading a post and responding to it, but I'm little more than apathetic about your personal sentiments.

I can keep things in perspective like that. Can you?

So I ask you a pointed question about me saying anything about selective doping, and you respond with a personal attack.

Yet I'm the one being called a troll and told to "amp down the personal attacks".

Uh, moderator, surely double standards aren't what this place is all about, right?

work it out in therapy, ok?

The stupidest thing you ever heard could certainly be easily interpreted as 'shocked and appalled' (which, incidentally, is just simply an expression).

If that's a bit too nuanced for you I'm ok with that.

You're precisely right. Most (all) of us do this for little more than a hobby.

I disagree about the comparison with the pros simply because of the above, but irrelevant.

Do you actually think anyone is doping to compete at the music city crits?

To extend that a bit further, if you did, would you want testing there?

To bring this back to the first sentence, it is little more than a hobby. Should we be subjected to drug tests for a hobby?

I mentioned being in full support of testing at big races because those are the races that matter for the people who view this sport as a lifestyle and a potential opportunity to better their life/career/racing. Local races do not fit that bill. State championships do not fit that bill. I don't know of anyone ever going pro because they won a state championship.

Would it suck if someone were doping to win a state crit? Sure. Do we need to go through testing everyone to find out? No.

The peloton has eyes and ears. If someone is doing something on the low, it will very likely come out without the need for drug testing at every parking lot crit that someone would want to race in.

Did you read the first sentence?

AT A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP?

I've pointed that out repeatedly to you. Now I've capitalized it.

Now you go ahead and tell me again about me being shocked and awed about amateurs being tested. Please.
