that Vuelta is gonna be a heck of a race huh?

maybe Nairo regrets not being in this tour a bit? My FSA DS team regrets it for sure.

TDF final podium - Porte, Valverde, Horner. I put all the remaining GC guys on piece of paper and drew lots. everyone else is crashing out and these guys win simply by default.

also T. Gallopin's yellow Ridley is nice to look at

I don't much care for the chivalry nonsense. It's bike racing. Staying on your bike is kind of on you. And those supposed unwritten rules have never been set in stone. I'm bummed for Contador, of course. But that's racing.

after reading the story of the tdf v 1 and 2, I came to realize that most of the "chivalry nonsense" is modern fiction.

i think it's a grey area.

wow ... Contador's pain cave must be a rough place.

What's with all the chatter about the crash being caused by a frame failure? Seems that some are saying the frame failed and Contador crashed while others are saying the crash broke the frame.

The picture of the broken bike is actually his back up that fell off the car and was run over by another car. It was not the reason for his crash nor the bike that was involved in the crash.

my 20 second internet search says no.

side note - if you watch the very excellent GCN channel on YouTube every TDF bike they have featured so far has either crashed out or taken a tumble in the standings. Talanksky, Cav, Froome. The only so far is Nibali....so far

Interesting recount of the damage control/spin. Probably best to let it all settle, then release a statement if it is even warranted.

Details of Alberto Contador's Tour-ending crash - VeloNews.com

Regardless of what or how it happened, it's too bad Contador is out of the race.

Could it be that if the frame really did fracture and was the cause of the crash that Specialized does not want that leaked as the truth? Could mean bad press for them. Like others have said, sucks to see Contador go out like this. I know there is still plenty of racing left, but Nibbles looks strong

great stage.

this is why real racing is always better than strava - no luck, no win.

also, Horner in the final podium? lol
