As for the Warriors, meh, they'll be good this year (like usual) but I can't get behind a team coached by someone who bailed on the Suns GM position.

I have an ultegra bike. That gray stuff that looks like 7900. I guess I could put that on my race bike, but against 7900 it would only be about 100 less which would be the same as 7800.

I love every thing about 7800 except the levers. They just don't fit my hands. SRAM is comfy, Campy 10-speed very nice, but the old Shimano shape just gave me cramps no matter how high or low I set them on the bars.

If you can find new 7800 and you prefer it, go for it.

Nice, have fun. Its awesome being a Warriors fan right now, especially after sucking for 20 years. Since he grew up across the street from my in laws we root for Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs as well. He really is that quiet.

The West is just so stacked right now its going to be interesting to see who comes out. I keep expecting San Antonio to age but it doesn't seem to happen.

Oh, you mean like triathlon. One of these days I'm going to get me one of those participant medals...

I participate in 'cross (not race it) for late-season intensity bumps and to severely damage my body in case I forgot to during road season. While we have an ever-growing fatbike racing scene (from ice crits to serious endurance racing) up here, I ride the trainer and dream of dry pavement. I ride for the shop of one of the godfathers of fatbikes, but I don't own one. I don't even own a mountain bike anymore. I think you should find whatever it is that you enjoy, devote a lot of time and resources to it, and ultimately prove yourself to be lacking in any aptitude for it. At least, that's been my pattern. There's always next year.

Finished watching Breaking Bad just now and totally loved it. Such a well made show, it's bloody brilliant! Looking for recommendations that are almost as good!

We used to have a race series (Frigid Bits) on a local pond that was plowed and then mopped. Old mountain bikes and studded tires usually were the norm. You'd tripod around turns and then try not to freeze your lungs.

Since the fatbike boom, which really got going up here around 7-10 years ago, the ice crits have been pretty much replaced by short singletrack races (Abominable Snow Series) and longer endurance races like the Talkeetna Trio, Frosty Bottom, or the Iditasport. Not my thing (endurance racing or fatbikes), but they are extremely popular up here. Lots of fatbikes in town, so obviously you have to see who can ride them the fastest.

On the above note.

I just went to a talk by Paul Farmer on Ebola. I now know about a billion times more about it than Christie.

The media has forgotten about nurse Vinson and all of the infections she didn't cause by traveling within CDC guidelines.

Nurse Pham asked for privacy as the continues to recover at home. Yeah, that's not going to be a problem because the press can't incite panic from a healthy woman who beat ebola and got a hug from the President.

Nice shot. I'd frame that on a 16x20 canvas if you took it with decent resolution. I love sunset pics - got some awesome ones in Hawaii since we were facing west, and got a few sunrise pics from the top of the volcano in Maui.
