Yes. I love that you won by a wide margin on 170 watts average. He probably averaged 270 or more. Great lesson.

PS. our Israeli-Dutch friend says hi, he was in town last week, all kitted out in his new Team Amsterdam duds. He's looking very euro-pro. But he still can't climb

Fill the tub with cold water, get in, cringe, and drop about 5 pounds of ice or whatever my refrigerator has made for the day. Sit in for about 10 minutes or however long I can tolerate it. Afterwards I take a very quick somewhat hot shower.

I find it is better to already have the ice in the bath. Just jump in and cringe for about 2 minutes than you are fine. fwiw, I usually have something warm to drink and I also usually wear a compression top and hat

This is almost me. I go to bed around 9 and get up at 5:15. I usually wake up at least once to go to the bathroom - often times more frequently.

Lately I haven't been sleeping much, but that is because I'm on a dose of Prednisone, which keeps me up a night.

That's my problem at night, even though I get 8+ every night I'm still interrupted at least once.

Your teammate was on the front pulling for something like 2 of the last 3 laps. I think the only reason why he didn't pull more is that the blue/red/yellow team tried to do a leadout, then a yellow, then a CCB guy sort of opened things up. Based on my camera footage I never shot a gap, I just jumped in a straight line. I think the fact that there was someone next to me made me think I shot a gap.

I sat up for 11 seconds in the sprint. Sprinted for only 10 seconds. So I did 964w avg until I sat up. Seems like it would have been a 19, maybe 20 second sprint (if I could take 2 seconds off my actual finish time considering I sprinted for 10s and then coasted for 10s? I think that would be asking a lot to go 2 seconds faster in 21 seconds).

I need to find my gloves. Between the car thing, some other relatively minor stress/distractions, Junior, I managed to misplace my favorite long finger gloves. I forgot to pack them when I went to drop the car off at the dealership then forgot to look for them before leaving 30 minutes late for the Tues race.

My chainring was audibly rubbing my chainstay. The 44T is visibly worn on the inside on one part of the ring (the spider isn't totally straight). I haven't gotten around to swapping the 39T yet since I have to find one first.

Bike shops should rent out GoPro's for daily use, they would probably make a lot of money. There's a high end camera store in NYC that rents out lenses for SLR's and also rents video cameras, but nothing small.

I'd like to use one for tonight's Rockleigh race as I've never recorded a race before.

Globe, I assume you're not doing the race tonight due to distance and your kid?

It's fairly amazing how much you suck at the internet. This took about 3 seconds to find.

Usually have about 2-3 trips to the bathroom at night, but I've become a pro at it.

Last night I had a dream my bike was stolen at a race, then I woke up to use the bathroom. The whole time I kept telling myself that I have to get back to sleep so I can get my bike back. (I was really out of it)

It bothered me when I first noticed it, i.e. the first few laps of the race (for warm up I rolled over to the start so no real pedaling before the race), but by then it was too late to do anything except stop and I didn't want to stop. After that it disappeared into the background.

It's unusual because it didn't rub before. Not sure why it rubbed this time.

I have to label some radios for another promoter (so he knows which ones are mine) then I'll look for a 39T

Last one right? Can't make it due to kid. If the stars line up I might get to do a group ride, which will be the high point of my week.

I've gotten up to pee every night so many times for so long, it's gotten to be Pavlovian. Now, if I wake up in the night for any reason, there's no way I can get back to sleep without getting up to pee even if I just did piss a little bit ago.

speaking of GoPros and Contours, how much is a camera that could record up to 4 hrs (and tape over the previously recorded afterwards)? thinking of finally going defensive with my set up and have front and rear cameras for, God forbid, any traffic incidents

With a go pro, its a matter of either swapping out the battery after 2 hours or getting an 3rd party battery pack.

Solo SST ride + Strong Cat 1 I know passing me and pointing to his wheel = hard jump & 120-150% of my FTP to hold his wheel = painful 6 minutes = Fun
