Something must be wrong. I had part 1 of my performance review and neither of us had any "constructive criticism" of the other.

also, battery life for most of these cameras won't last a long ride.
got my hands on a few shimano cameras. i've played with contours and go pros before. i dislike the form factor of the go pro...but for your case i think you WANT people to notice the camera. cdr has pointed this out before but behavior changes when people know or at least think they are being recorded (he had some rear-mounted camera on a car, i think).
shimano cm-1000 is nice but not perfect.

Why is the Eneco Tour always so crashy??
Decent crash in the final 300m today, yikes. Stybar is out, and so are some of his teeth apparently.
Oh and poor Faraar.. I wonder if he ever got a real leadout he'd get some results.. as it is though he's got 6th through 10th LOCKED DOWN.

Dash cams autooverwrite, there's a menu selection. Some offer G-force retention, i.e. a certain impact will retain the last minute. Batteries, not sure how long they last, not very long, but if you had a Lithium battery with a USB type outlet you could plug the camera into the battery. I have a light that is charged via USB (newt? not sure) and I suppose I could use a two ended USB cable to power a dash cam.
Our two cars now have Ojocam 0801 dash cams front and rear. They're less noticeable than before (I'm thinking of putting yellow paint on the rear camera, maybe just a circle around the lens, so it's more visible). During the day it's amazing how drivers react - 99% of them will start off tailgating then suddenly back a good 50-70 feet away (at 40-50 mph). Without the camera they just tailgate. I don't have a causal proof but the correlation is very strong. At night there is no difference in behavior.
Front cam (formerly used a DroidX with Dailyroads app but the LG G2 is too blurry so am no longer using my phone as a dash cam):
Rear is a bit less visible with reflections but at times it really stands out. I used to have a much bigger form factor camera that sat low in the window but the three cams I have broke and I decided not to replace them (broken body molded mount, broken USB plug - broke off inside, broken body molded mount + broken USB plug)
Those cameras power on when they get power and turn off a few seconds after they lose power, so you can plug them into a battery and unplug when done.
I suppose one of the dash cams I removed would work as a rear cam, as long as I used my USB light as a battery source. I might do it, didn't think of it until I was typing this response.

I like that the Tour of the Arctic started from Hammerfest today. I reckon you've gotta be a rugged individual if you're from Hammerfest (based on name and climate).

Yes. I love that you won by a wide margin on 170 watts average. He probably averaged 270 or more. Great lesson.
PS. our Israeli-Dutch friend says hi, he was in town last week, all kitted out in his new Team Amsterdam duds. He's looking very euro-pro. But he still can't climb

Also I forgot to say about our ID friend - I'm surprised he can't climb. So powerful, very fit, reminds me of a former teammate, and that guy could hold his own for sure on climbs.

He's a big guy, but part of it is probably in his head. We have a lot of very high quality climbers on the team, >4.8 w/kg guys (including JC). I-D just isn't at that level, so when he visits us and the climbers scamper away he gets frustrated and gives up early.

How do you only have 18k of vertical? I have the same number of miles as you this year, 1600, but have 70k of vertical. And most of my rides are in central park! I guess your crits are REALLY flat.

Spare me please. I don't dislike the guy at all, in fact from all indications he seems like a great guy and all... but he was in decent position, in the wheels, and when the sprint starts he's immediately going backwards. He simply doesn't have the speed to compete at the front of a protour field sprint.

But some sprinters are better at freelancing than others.. even Cav says he needs his leadout to really seal the deal.
Tyler's brave enough to stay in the top 10 in the final kms, but not fast enough to finish it off.. I predict he comes back to the US scene before too long, where he'd be plenty fast.
