hard to just post a few... but here's a snap I took, cellcam pointing backwards as we descend the big hill on Co 93 above Blue Mesa dam (SW from Gunnison).
here's the E side of Kebler Pass, looking West / uphill to the pass. We rode up the day after the USAPCCCC stage. The dirt section isn't very steep but it's reasonably long. The spot on the lower pavement where they stopped the race is VERY close to the town of CB, especially at descending speeds. On that dry dirt ad I only brought a 53x14, I was holding 40+mph for long stretches. Can't imagine doing that in a full on downpour on this clay surface.

My glaucoma has progressed to the point where lasers are no longer effective. I go under the knife next Tuesday. No riding at all for at least two weeks maybe more. Once it heals and my vision clarity returns there is no reason why I cannot resume my normal lifestyle. Sucks, but it would be good to be able to see again. Perspective.

I also enjoyed geeking out on all the townie bikes. These folks were displaying at the stage start and all of their bikes were beautiful and functional. Didn't buy one only because we didn't have spare roof rack space.

My longtime best friend and riding buddy had the surgery for both of his eyes a few years back. It all went perfectly. Only downside was that once he got his fitness back (didn't take long) he started beating me for all the city limit sprints because he could see the signs again. Heal fast man.

I love how Sidi's look but I got burned on the Sidi Ergo 3's. I had an old pair of Sidi's that fit me like a glove, then got the Sidi Wire's that fit like a glove, and then I found the Ergo3's in the SAME SIZE as the other two pairs but they hurt!!!
Ugh still mad that they just sit there all nice and pretty.

I woke up and my dog was sleeping in his bed and was thinking Monday sucks for both of us. I have to go to work which means he's in his kennel during the day. Not much difference for either of us really. Stupid Mondays

Indeed, I've been called an addict.. withdrawal sucks.
Btw you should really read that Gaimon book; he talks about how when racing/riding is your job, it's actually not that fun anymore (at times).
Plus we generally make a lot more $$$ than they do!! #couldbeworse

You might be surprised to know how many racers are in recovery for one addiction or another. Or you might not be surprised.

I'm not surprised. Just noting it.
I have been addicted to, at various times, food (sugar, really), online gaming (lineage, planetside, world of warcraft, etc...), FPS games (competitive), then cycling -> now racing.
This is a particularly bad Monday as I'm down on my performance yesterday. Just bummed out. WOE IS ME, GUYS.
