is it weird that I can't seem to get motivated/excited about crits anymore? i used to love crits, but lately I don't even feel like doing them. there are some big local races coming up (hartford and boston) and I might not even do them, even though i could ride to mayors cup. just doesn't get me excited.

Check the suburbs for hotels, there are more rooms and it will be cheaper than staying downtown. But of course, no hotel in the Boston area will be cheap. I assume you will be renting a car? That will make it easier. Just around or outside of 128 (I-95 loop around Boston) is your target zone. If you want to take public transportation to the game/city, some locations will be easier than others.

i've barely raced this season, but a lot of mental energy has been wasted on training only to have stupid **** (injuries, bike problems, etc) hold back my racing, so yeah, it's probably some form of "burn out." i'd just much rather go for a 4 hour ride than dedicate all day to racing a crit for 50 minutes. shrug. i guess preferences change over time.

Just had a nice visit with a new physical therapist(insurance changed over).
My bad leg strength:
Hamstring - 100%
Quad - 40%
Glute - 5%
I have issues engaging the lower part of my Quad, no problem, gotta work on strength. Hamstring fires full strength surprisingly and when needed.
The glute on the other hand...he said he was shocked but it was super weak. Guess I know what to focus my PT on :/

Looks like I'm going to miss the Thursday night ride due to conflicting soccer dad commitments. On a positive note, at least now I can have the al pastor tacos from the farmers' market for lunch without fear I'll be splattering them all over the Garden Highway.

Left home for work #1 at 6 am (an hour drive), got home from work #2 after 9:30. Longest day of work I've had in a long time, most days not requiring driving nor more than 6-8 hours of working. Needless to say I didn't ride. But I did get In-N-Out Burger between jobs, which I have been craving every couple weeks for a while now.

Starting to mentally scale back the length of my season. Those three hour drives to races aren't so enticing now.

Consensus please. New in the box without warranty or new take-offs for 10% less?

Take-offs, since you're not getting the warranty anyway.

Who comes to Vermont on labour weekend without arm and knee warmers... Me! I looked at them and said to myself 'don't forget them' apparently that's where it ended...
Picked up a set of Pearl Izumi's. I wear small, but in PIs you need the shortest fattest arms possible. I've always found their sizing to be totally whack. Then again I'm a skinny assed climber wanna be dude...
Green Mountain starts in 4.5hrs or so for me...
BTW the northeast is just lovely, think I need to see more of it!
