That is insane.

Is interest paid on student loans tax deductible in the states?

lol! Thing is, I ride in 70-90 all year round. Summertime just means leaving at 4:30 am and being done by 9:30 at the latest. I think I have bad circulation or some such thing as I shiver when it is 50 or below.

I wouldn't mind rolling through some fall foliage right about now though.

The last few Saturdays have meant drinking 180-200 ounces of water on the rides, even in the mountains. Tomorrow should be nice, maybe only into the 80s.

Pcad has a couple threads in 50+ and in the 41 about his knee replacement. Sounds like it's rehabing quickly.

arm warmers are prime season wear

we're up in the mountains, staying on lake george, and riding into vermont today. seriously though, on any given sunday in the adirondacks you need arm warmers.

Wow, what a morning. Awesome team cross ride on the local carriage roads. Even the flat tires were photogenic.

Enjoying my stay in Georgia. Man I love riding down here. Nothing beats nice smooth roads with little traffic. Six gap sufferage tomorrow!

This is going to be a damn fine way to cap off a really fun season of racing and training.

UCI races are a completely different level. I started working at 7am and the first time I looked at my watch was 1:15. Non stop. The riders trust you to get it right and dammit I am going to get it right. If there is one thing I have learned this weekend is that I have a long ways to go before I can consider myself worthy. It's humbling and motivating at the same time.

Forgot that you were there, but it sounds like I may not have had a chance to say hello! It was a hell of a day. My teammate won the 3 race after one of the most egregious sprint violations I've ever seen from his opponent. The officials made the right call, so we're all pretty happy with the officiating at Gloucester so far.

Thanks. We had a huddle over that finish. Both riders were sketchy so we let the results stand.

I lined you up, checked you numbers, staged you, and worked the pits once you got going.

how egregious was the opponent's violation? what was the nature?

sounds like your teammate's violation (from what shovel was saying) must have been equally egregious.

anything interesting (or for learning)?

We can have different perspectives on it. Everyone I heard from standing on the other side of the course across from the officials platform, teammates and non-teammates, thought it was pretty clear that the other rider moved over into our guy when he was clearly coming past. I don't know what looked different on the other side of the road, but I would speculate that because our guy didn't back off when he got the door slammed on him and kept trying to come past, that looked questionable from a little further away. I don't know if the officials would agree with me or not if they were on the left side of the road instead of the right, but they're not and they can only be in one place. Obviously, as teammates we will be more inclined to think that our guy was wronged, but no one on our side seemed to think both riders were sketchy. But it all turned out fine, didn't it?

I had actually been under the impression that the actual finish order was reversed. When one of the officials said to me "[Teammate] won the sprint," I wasn't clear on quite what that meant, because everyone was equally convinced the other rider had a tire width on him over the line. Apparently, the photo finish showed otherwise? Unfortunately for my curiosity, I can't seem to find a photo finish posted anywhere, it may not be available yet or available period.

Thanks Revchuck... Had a good time. Never climbed so much in my life. The goal was 6hrs and I missed it by a few minutes. Hanging with my Georgia friend and drinking some beers. A perfect way to end my visit.

Grolby the officials and timing were on the right side at the line. That's why your number was on the right. I was still in the pits at the finish so I saw nothing myself. There was no penalty assessed. Rest assured you had one of the best CR/CJ combos in New England with their eyes on it, and that both sides of the story were heard.

I am heading back to western Mass soon. A long long weekend with no pay but the education was worth it.

Oh, I have no doubt at all that they're among the best and that they made the correct call. I was acknowledging that I did not see what they saw. There's a reason the blue shirts make the call and not a bunch of angry racers on the sideline. In the end, **** happens and everyone stayed upright.

Yeah, but after hearing you complain about having to park next to a Lamborghini in your fancy NYC parking garage, I just have trouble feeling much sympathy.

If only I lived in one of those states! Our house/condo budget is approximately 70k higher than that, and we're looking for cheap places.
