There are places in Boston that you should not use a credit card. Stay away from them.

Deetz? I want to do this to my nexus! Dalvik is nice, but I've noticed it's been running slower lately. My HD is almost full. I need to purge a bunch of stuff.

This almost offsets the 10% cut we got in July, but I appreciate the recognition more than anything.
Wat?

You got a cut a few months ago. This isn't a raise, this is just a throwback.

I don't go to centerfolds. Definitely been paying with cash more lately though. This place is a laundromat across from my place where I do wash and fold...

First, benchmark!
No fun if you don't see what you gained. Install Antutu Benchmark, and get a number. The Nexus 4 should be in the 18,000s somewhere.

Next, go into developer mode (this only enables a new settings menu):

Settings->About Phone->Tap the build number seven times until it says something like "congratulations, you're a developer"

Next, switch from Dalvik to ART:
Settings-> { ** Developer Options (2nd from the bottom) -> Select runtime -> ART

You will have to do a painful reboot, as it will need to recompile all of your apps on startup, and it took mine 15 minutes to compile 182 apps (all the Google standards count as apps).

Finally, benchmark, then gloat

Try it with a prepaid card. Load it up with $20 or something and monitor the activity. Or depending on your bank you can open a new checking account for free and just keep a small amount of money in there though that is a bit riskier.

My dad has been internet famous for the last 24 hours. He and my mom were at the NLCS last night. Before the game my mom was in the dugout store buying yet more Giants stuff and my dad was waiting out on the sidewalk when a reporter for the Chron came up and asked to take his picture. Even though he and my mom have had Giants season tix forever, he always wears a Cubs hat because that's his hometown team. And he was wearing an Ernie Banks jersey, an early Xmas present from my sister. The guy tweeted his picture and it got picked up by some Chicago sports bloggers and then it got picked up by an ESPN guy.

He's now a hero among his hometown fans.

I know we don't have a non-racing photo thread here, but this morning's team cross ride was outrageously pretty. We're just past peak foliage here in the Hudson Valley.

And one from last night's ride...

Today's ride caps off 3 big weeks, total TSS of 2700. Now it's time for a couple of weeks completely off the bike, and resetting for the spring.

Beautiful pics. Reminds me of this area, just take away any form of life, foliage, and water.

I'm thinking about doing the Joe Martin stage race next year (Master's B). The logistics are doable. No TT bike required for the TT. Has anyone here done it, and if so, what's the atmosphere like compared to a regular amateur stage race?

I've never done it, but plenty here have. Joe Martin is an NRC race. National races attract national talent.

Yup, that's why I want to go, to see how the big dogs do it. The Master's B race this year was all relatively local guys - AR, TX and OK. M60+ pays out three places, and only had three guys this year. I might could make enough for that night's supper and have money left for coffee the next morning.
