I have a nice bike I think. I rode the bike I want for sure. I had a nice one prior, but I no longer wanted an ISP. I skirt the upper end usually of my bike of choice, and have turned down better deals on colors that are less desire able to me. I'm not immune. In fact I just made my first purely utilitarian move that I can recall in a long while - going to ultegra so I can stay 10s cheaply.

When did people that raced start giving a crap about what other people were racing on given that everything was in working order?
The go-to race bike used to be a CAAD9 people thought it was adequate, reliable, and well... cost effective. Have racers started becoming caught up in fred culture?

I've raced my backup bike that I don't even like to ride many times. Once the race starts I never think about it.
