+1, except I use skim cow's milk. I've taken to adding a handful or two of frozen fruit as well.

Congrats Grammercy.

As for the eBay deal, I sold a bike on there a couple years ago, and the guy who wanted to buy it was from Hawaii. We exchanged several emails about shipping costs before he bought it. It took me a long time to find a way to ship it for less than $300.

I also bought a bike off eBay and the shipping was about $50.

It depends. If the goal is to gain weight, then all macros need to go up. That's what I did.

I was merely advocating that I saw pretty large gains in recovery/performance. While the performance gains probably don't transfer over the same at all. I think nutrient timing is important and post ride shakes with protein and carbs is beneficial.

Things like creatine on the other hand are probably much more beneficial for track sprinters than for crit racers.

I'm just glad you didn't say "workout" again.. for some reason when I see that word I picture you pumping iron in front of a mirror!

FWIW
Effect of Recovery Interval on Multiple-Bout Sprint Cycling Performance After Acute Creatine Supplementation
https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&sourc...x6WE-khTUzv1Tw

Results indicate that Cr supplementation is effective in improving recovery from repeated sprint cycling performances when the recovery interval is of a short (6minutes) duration.

From the article: Previous research utilizing oral Cr supplementation has demonstrated that 0.2–0.5 g·kg body weight 21·d21 (;20–40 g/d) is sufficient to increase intramuscular Cr content over a 6-day period (22, 28, 30)

....

20-30 g creatine a day for loading seems insanely excessive, though I guess it's required if you want to load up that fast.

So it looks like it is potentially beneficial to repeated anaerobic bouts. Comes with about 5lb weight gain though, so not sure how that evens it up. The study seems cool, but just based on that one I think it's possibly more applicable to track sprinters as well, though I suppose crit racers might benefit although I'm not sure what the w/kg benefit is if you're gaining 4 lbs. Seems like it'd be deleterious if you're going to do hillier race. I also tend to feel thirstier and drink more water if I'm on creatine. Maybe it's just me but I'm probably drinking 3L or so a day at work. Seems challenging for a long race.

is castelli sizing as small as everyone says? never tried it on, but i'm freaking small (5'3", 125lbs) and wear an xs in pretty much everything. will a size small be too big? do they even offer an xs (not on their size charts)? halp.

oh, and i guess i joined a new team, so that's cool. of course, the first year i have to race against cdr is the year he's going to be in insane shape.

Their sizing is small, and kind of weird. For example, I can squeeze into a L aero race jersey without much effort, but I'm XL in basically everything else they offer outside of skinsuits. For comparison, I wear L is most other brands.

I find Castelli fits true to size more or less. I'm 6'3" 190 or so and wear large kits (Inferno bibs and Aero jersey).

Getting an out of memory error trying to access MySQL data from MSSQL linked server. It worked until yesterday.

A simple SELECT TOP 1 gives results, but stick ORDER BY ID DESC on the end and I get the error.

I was able to select 350,000 rows from MySQL into a SQL temp table a couple days ago.

Any good MySQL forums ??

ha.

I have some older Castelli shorts, size L. They were a giveaway at Interbike, the year of the Cervelo Test team. Makes it 2008 or so, they're the paint shorts, whatever year they came out. I just Googled and there's a paint short 2.0 so I think I must have the 1.0 version.

They fit weird. Size L but they're almost like short shorts. For me they're okay since my legs are so short but they should be 3-4-5 inches longer in the leg. I assume this has been fixed and the proportions are more normal now. They're more snug than the VOMax gen 1 team shorts size M, same snugness as size M Verge shorts, and more snug than the size S Hincapie team shorts. I mention all those because I think you have them all.

Otherwise the material is great, like great, like I wish all shorts used the leg bit. Padding no idea because it's different now and I only ride on the trainer with these shorts.

I do not find Castelli especially small for a Euro brand. I would say go off the sizing chart with Castelli. I'm 5'9" 150-155lbs. and the S race and aero jerseys fit me fine other than being too long in the front (and bunched up on the bike) so I returned them. I have that problem with many jerseys BTW.

I'd start with figuring out what, if anything, has changed in the past day (I'm sure you've already done this) and go from there. Maybe thar be a connection stuck open due to a doinked query or something. Beyond that I concur with furiousferret, and would also recommend stack overflow.

what piece(s)? i'm very familiar with castelli stuff. you buying retail pieces or custom?

depending on the piece, where it is made, and where it is intended to be sold, the sizing can vary. i.e. the euro custom pieces intended for sale in europe are slightly different than those castelli USA.

i'm a little under 6' and weigh more than you. for an aero fit, i wear a small jersey. in some pieces i could probably do XS. some folks prefer a baggier fit. pieces like the climbers jersey are cut slightly different than the aero jersey/sanremo and can be worth downsizing (IMO).

i tend to do medium shorts but in mixed pieces (like the sanremo), i recommend going with the smaller of the jersey or shorts, which for me is a small.

at your size i'd guess that XS would be up your alley and might even be too big.
