Well my torque tube finally gave up I guess, so I didn't have power either. Would have been nice to see the huge NP. That was a harder 2.5 hour break than Knight's Ferry, and I hit 0.91 IF at Knight's. I guess as close to IP=1 as is possible for 2.5 hours. What would that be, like 0.97? Gonna have to estimate TSS for a while.

Got my new kits for the year. After five years of the same design, we changed things up. They came out a bit differently than how they looked in the design - colors didn't reproduce the same. And I'm really starting to think, "We've made a terrible mistake."

My meter gave me a whopping NP of 187 @ 0.55 IF. I was sitting in, but that's quite low.

This made me Lol - crashes are always caused by riders in lower cats

The Secret Pro: Let the season begin! | CyclingTips

It’s amazing when you get to the big races and Grand Tours where the wild card teams have been invited, and how many times it seems to be that the wild card teams are the ones involved in the crashes. I’m not being elitist, I’ve had to rise through the ranks to get to where I am now. it’s just interesting to note that the Pro Continental and Continental guys are renowned for crashing. I’ll try and avoid them in the peloton just knowing that there’s a stronger chance they’ll cause other guys hit the deck.

Huh. There are plenty of racers who want to do stuff. Nice opportunity for a spring series in N Jersey, lower Hudson Valley, or fancy CT.

We got a taste of it yesterday, but like a 10 year old watching scrambled cable porn our fleeting glimpse of righteous boob has turned right back into fighting jellyfish.

I thought CDR had been fighting that battle in "fancy CT". Does this mean that Branch Brook will be full of angry brooklyn-ites with the similarly predictable carnage (at least in the 4s and 5s)?

CT is a big state. There are two series in Hartford. Which is basically New Hampshire. Surely the state could tolerate one a bit closer to an actual population center.

Did prices for Conti GP4000's go up in the past few weeks? I need to buy a new pair and it seems that they cost $90 per pair on PBK. I thought they were $70 a few weeks ago?

By "fancy CT" I was thinking more like Greenwich, Darien, etc. Not much chance of anyone putting on a race series there, TBH.

A road race through Greenwich roads heading north above the Merritt would be awesome. Those farm/horse country roads are awesome, but would never happen.

It's another thing when it's questionable if he has any self awareness. Well he does, at times, that's obvious because he knows who I am, but there are significant periods of time where he either doesn't or he's lost in his own thoughts. My mom spent her last weeks enveloped in a non-responsive state, significantly worse than my dad right now, but in the concept of "no sense of self" it was 100% for my mom. I said to the Missus that this is where people start talking about the soul and stuff. Chemically, biologically, my dad (and my mom) were there, existing, processing, cell splitting, all that stuff. But as people? Not so much.

I had a senior moment the other day. It was pretty significant actually. I totally and completely could not remember where the dishes were in our cabinets. I could remember where they were in my dad's house (which is where I grew up). But in our own house, no. I guess I had a weird look on my face or maybe I said something, I don't know. The Missus looked really worried and asked what was wrong. I played it off and just opened the cabinet in front of me and the dishes happened to be there. The thing that was weird was that the dishes location simply ceased to exist in my mind. The way I didn't know was completely different than any previous time I've forgotten something.
Sorry to hear you are going through this with your Dad.
