I'm hoping to get my feet under me soon and get back on the bike for my old level of training (which was already sucky). We'll see about racing later this season. I'm missing the Central Texas road season as it happens now. The Driveway will be my target if I get some fitness.

In spite of all that, I'm having a lot of fun at work and with the family. The pendulum has just swung away from racing for a bit, I think.
Cool. Good to "see" you.

Philly's pretty awesome. Might be a toss up with NYC for school location. I guess it's not really my decision to make at this point anyway.

It's not ok to eat all of everything, I've discovered.

I've slowly been putting on weight since my injury. I'm eating fairly good, but when you don't work out even minor cheating shows on the gut. That 5000-8000 kCals a week on the bike makes a big difference.

I've been sitting on the couch snacking pretty much constantly when I'm not on the bike. Chocolate, snack mix, pita chips and hummus, etc. Eating probably 4k calories a day and burning probably 1500 on the bike.

I'm a really fat skinny guy!

I like reasonable companies. I somehow ruined the dual threaded nut bolt combo on my Rotor 3D non-drive side crank arm. Pretty much renders the crank set useless. I called Rotor USA and they said to send it in and they can fix it up for around $10.

My TTs are about 5km. The rides I'm doing this week are TT-length intervals with warmups, RBIs and cool downs included, plus some extra time on the bike to get used to the position.

During lunch today, I decided to look up cheap carbon wheels from China. Almost impulsively bought a new set of carbon clinchers, saner heads prevailed when I realized I still have to my taxes.

+1 on sub, good to see you're still kicking, too.
I guess you know RacerEx moved out of the area? Any thoughts of visiting SoCal again?

Hey John, I'm like a bad penny. Yep, I heard about Ex leaving the area. I understand it had something to do with finding easier Strava KOM's to claim. And yes, I'm trying to get some things straightened out this way so I can do a west coast version of Sherman's March starting in SoCal, sweep up northward and meet up with the missus at her sisters I Seattle. It's just hard to get the planets lined up properly.

I will keep you posted.

I'm still kicking it. Not cycling though. It may be a few more years before I can really put my attention on it.
Raising my daughters on my own mostly and managing my home and working 40-50hrs a week and working out and working on a new relationship too. So my time is scarce. Hell, I'm lucky to get 6 hours of sleep each night. But I cannot complain. My life is wonderful. My girls and I truly love one another. My job is good (but may start looking for a new one that pays more). This girl I'm seeing is really awesome and beautiful and for some odd reason she seems to really like me. I mean ... what the heck is wrong with her?

I still catch cycling on the web when I can. Watched Paris Nice last week actually. Watching it makes me miss competition. But I know I can get back on the bike when everything settles. I look forward to the day. This girl I'm seeing wants me to do it. She sees the passion in my eyes when I talk about racing.

Cookies from Cosi in the company pantry today - Chocolate Chunk cookies are 448 calories per and Sugar cookies are 402 calories per. If an imbecile with no impulse control around cookies ate 2 of each ... 1700 calories.

DAMN YOU COOKIES.

My wife brought home a couple of trays of Costco muffins this weekend. So far, I've been managing to stay strong but the willpower is rapidly fading (especially with a 5 month old son who has recently forgotten how to sleep longer than 90 minutes at a time - 2 months ago he was only getting up once a night).
