I've had a few Lazers - currently on them and will be for the forseeable future.
The rain cover is stellar (for rain/staying warmer since cold air isn't venting right in/and aero for race-times)
There are a bunch of options for padded inserts to keep you east coasters warm, they seem pretty good -
Fit: they all fit long/narrow oval - the retention system is "all around", not just "tighten the helmet front-to-back", quite helpful if you have a narrow head and your helmet is always shifting to one side or the other.

Sunglasses - they won't fit in most Lazer helmets - some of the new ones yes, but most, no.

Staying in Folsom ... or at least that's the plan. Tried to sell my wife on East Sac, but failed. We like the town and know it pretty well, so its a safe choice for now.

I have a head like a basketball (ie round), and because of this I have had all sorts of trouble finding a helmet that fits (ie has enough space back to front without being too tight side to side). Right now I am using a Lazer Sphere, and it is the best fitting helmet I have ever worn. Interesting that they also fit a narrow head shape well.

you're not quitting a job because you can post on a racing forum while not racing, and posting only about twice a year?

I'm actually accepting a job offer in an hour, the one I posted about last week. I think my title is going to be Chief Awesome Officer, or at least I hope so because that's what I put on the cards I ordered.

I'm being treated to a steak tomorrow.
I'd rather be treated to another raise and a more private office so I can do this pantless without fear of someone popping in.

like 75% of the fun of wearing no pants is people catching you wearing no pants.

What I said above is they don't fit my narrow* head shape well. But it's like shoes, you just have to try them on.

* that makes my head sound small, when in fact I'm an XL/XXL helmet guy. Head shaped somewhat like this guy.

Yeah, but like my nana always said:
"Keep a dead frog on your lap. They'll be so concerned with the frog they won't notice you don't have pants on."

Yeah ... I think she was suffering dementia at the time. I say, suffering. I think the crazy old bat actually enjoyed it.

Last month was my 17th anniversary at the job. They have monthly meetings where they acknowledge birthdays and anniversaries and they give a token $50 gift card. The dude called my name and I walked up to him to get my card and he shook my hand and said they had stopped the gift cards as of then.
I walked back to where I had been standing in a pathetic fit of laughter. I couldn't contain myself at the absurdity of the situation.
