Glad I work at a small place, and my boss know how to keep things moving along. When the president starts going off topic, she'll say "That's outside the scope of this meeting, perhaps that can be discussed separately"

One of the directors at work goes off topic several times each meeting. I once counted 12 separate times he went off topic in 1 hour, his secretary counted 30+ throughout the day once. Where I'm at, the directors rarely have their superiors in meetings. This makes much harder to keep things on track.

How do I navigate buying something more like Pactimo and less like Rapha? I want a new bike not a rind that costs as much as a car!

Asked my wife what she wanted ahead of time. Had her pick out a gemstone, not a diamond, that she liked and let her have a custom ring designed to hold the gemstone. Whole thing for a custom ring that she loves was under $2k

Buy the budget version and put the savings into a joint 401k. Not glamorous, but you may be glad down the road.

We will probably have to hit our 401k early and take a penalty, but at least we saved a bunch so it is there to be used.

This should be fun.
I'm officially a "manager" for the first time, and the 1 person reporting to me is the company clown who takes twice as long as he should to get stuff done, and doesn't document anything when he finally does it.

Sounds like things are being set up so one of you is going to have to go, either the slacker or the manager who failed to get more out of him. Maybe I'm a pessimist.

That's not a good sign. Every time I've gotten an offer, there's been a call within 72 hours.
