What did you get?
I finally got to ride my new bike! Never had a FS bike before, or one this slack (though it's not that slack), or a 27.5, or a 60mm stem, etc, it's a totally new experience. Love the 1x11 and the dropper post especially. I'll be selling my hardtail 29er now. Anybody want it?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Your obvious jokes might not be so obvious.

Going with the Mtb pic posting theme.
I bought a Santa Cruz Tallboy C a month ago. 29r, full susp, 2x10. Love it, although now that the rain and mud has come, it will not see a lot of use for a few months.

I don't understand. Why don't those bikes have drops?

I really like the writer's style. I'm no LA fan but Coyle's book on him is great. Therefore when I read that he was writing the Tyler book I decided to get it.
I'm a regular reading type person, don't do complicated sentences well, so there's that. More sophisticated readers (read "more educated") may find fault with it.

There are some hills near here which are made from sandstone so there is no mud, even if the rain is pouring down.
I love the Tallboy, a friend has one and I got to fondle it once.

Thanks.
Yeah, nothing too steep for more than a few minutes yet. I do have to muscle up some things a little more than I like, but it hasn't been a real detriment yet.
I liked the idea of doing M8000 and having that 40 or 42t in the rear. Plus, I could run a bigger ring up front, like a 32. But this just ended up being so much cheaper.

i now run 32x11-40 (m9000) all the time.
our terrain is very much up, up, up, down, down, down. one ride starts out with 1.5 miles of an average of 16%. i've ridden that climb on various bikes and all sorts of gear combos. at a certain point, you're going to grind no matter what. a 32x40 or a 30x40 just doesn't make much of a difference, you just go a little slower.
(yeah, i bet if i had a 22x36 now i'd probably spin to my heart's content, but a 1x just runs so much cleaner on a MTB. ironically, with the advent of MTB di2, i bet 2x setups are way, way better in terms of performance, but i'm already down the 1x path.)

when i lived in moab, before FS bikes were completely universal, there was an affectionate term for people riding hard tails: fun-haters.
(i still think a 29er HT is a much different beast than a 26er and is the perfect bike for some places....and i have one in my quiver, but for just about every race i wind up going with my fully. there are just so many areas that you can pedal through on a fully where you have to stand on an HT. the fully definitely makes me more lazy/more technically sloppy.)
hope you get many great rides with it!

Having discussed the product with my girlfriend, I've decided to change the tagline to "nothing but net". She argued that the original tagline sounded like it does the exact opposite of what it's supposed to do, whereas "nothing but net" seems to imply it is a hammock sort of device while still sounding all sporty.

If you thought I reallllllllly thought that post was actually about me, out of the blue, in reference to nothing I had said, that is what is injurious to me. I just took your post as an opportunity to make a silly point about banned people and push around the edges to mention John, Steve and Tim. forget about it.

You really need to calm down. Whether I was kidding around also or simply missed the point is irrelevant at this point. Your reactions are so disproportionate they're troublesome.

Because you are worried about the trails or worried about the bike? When I lived in the mountains I loved riding the mtb in the snow and mud, Did grind up some drivetrains and wear through some rims.
There are some hills near here which are made from sandstone so there is no mud, even if the rain is pouring down.
I love the Tallboy, a friend has one and I got to fondle it once.

Yes, worried about the trails, not the bike. Although hard packed dirt is definitely more fun than mud as well.
