Elated, pissed off. Either way. I'm not particularly inclined to engage the endless internet debate with you today regarding what seems to me to be the relatively common sense thoughts of others on this situation. You disagree with me? Cool. The world can hold more than one opinion.

I read enough to know that echappist's reading comprehension is low this morning.

"the way it was presented it could have just as easily been a cash grab" does not equal "it was a cash grab"

But I do disagree with losing the parenting license. We're all just one unfortunate crash (with all our insurances) from being eventually bankrupted from medical costs. Teeth, brain injury, spinal injury, whatever.

Let me rephrase then, as by 'race' I meant 'race red hook' which in and of itself seems to me to be a wildly questionable parenting move and I'm even shocked (dumbfounded) that juniors would even be allowed to race it.

Yea man. I'm back up to my off season weight, now trying to decide if I keep going north or try to lean out and not become a ******.

didn't seem to me like he was arguing with you -- actually, i thought he brought up a bunch of good stuff that people entering the sport don't think about and maybe should. not saying we should be paralyzed by fear, but it's hard to know how to protect oneself (say, financially) if you don't know the right questions to ask or the potential risks.

there's lots of guidance for insurance for a renter or homeowner; not so much in this area.

i thought the post had some good content.

ok.

me saying I wasn't reading it wasn't some sort of device. I was running an errand, was on my phone, and had to get back for three conf calls. I skimmed the first paragraph, which as fudgy pointed out, argues against a position I didn't take. So I decided I wasn't going to engage it. Good points, or not, each paragraph set up some kind of debate. It is my prerogative to not debate the issue.

I do three of four sets of 10 during my upper WO's, with different hand positions.

I learned that driving karts for a bit is worth significant upper body soreness. Today I'm not sore, first day since the driving on Saturday night. Just did 3 races, I figure it's about 40s x 8 to 10 laps, so 320-400s per race, or 5 or 6 minutes, so total of just 15-18 minutes of driving. Holy smokes.

They have a 60 minute race, can't imagine that. Also something like a 10 hour enduro team race (like a LeMans) thing.

Can't imagine "real" race car drivers, F1 and the like.
