Note to self:

Put tiny bag of iodine tabs in bar end.
Riding some remote places in WV I carried iodine tablets just in case

I have put coke in my bottles before. I once rode from Phoenix to Tucson and then back. We ate Mexican food and it was a long day, I was worried about getting sleepy on the way home due to the chips, salsa and huge burrito so I asked the waitress to fill my bottles with coke. I think I gave myself a cavity but it did the trick.
I wonder if insulated bottles would keep coffee warm?

I have attempted this myself up here in New England, only lasts about 30 minutes before you are drinking cool coffee. Although that experience is based off of riding at 25 degrees Fahrenheit so higher external temps may keep your coffee warmer for longer. Honestly a good thermos is the best for keeping coffee warm, you just need to find one that works with your bottle cage well.

Coke in water bottles = bottles that intermittently burp coke onto your legs. Really gross. Unless the coke is already flat. Which is also gross.

It gets all over everything, including the cable guide under the bottom bracket, which messes up rear shifting.

Still, it tastes good, especially while the ice lasts.

Yes yes, I've found that Pepsi works much better for that application.

I'm not an expert but I think N*Sync was Coke and the Backstreet Boys were Pepsi. I'd have to ask my 90's teenybopper friends, though.

Those turtlenecks, tho. Geez.

In between that, and the guys with dusty bottles of 50 year old wine in their cellars.

When I commute in the morning I use a Contigo insulated coffee mug in one bottle cage and water in the other. It stays pretty hot for about an hour, and by that time I'm awake. Costco sells a 2 pack for ~$20.

In more than one crit I've dumped various Coke, Gatorade, etc, over my head because I didn't want to drink it but I was overheating.

I race with just plain water now.

I believe you Harlem Crit video shows you dumping some sugary drink on yourself, I could be wrong though

My plyometrics boxed arrived yesterday, it only took a one hour wait in line at the local post office. For some reason my local post office is super slow; line out the door and only two of five windows open.

In the summer, I usually have one bottle of just water for that purpose. And in races, it's only water for fear of getting them mixed up.

I generally have disdain for guys who dump water on their heads. They seem to lack the situational awareness that most of it ends up on other guys' glasses.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but our amnios are back and both babies are healthy, normal boys. So far. Open to some name suggestions if you have clever ones!
