We had a weekend of culture here, took our 4.5 year old to a tapas place and then to a christmas themed celtic music show put on by our local public radio station (he loves music and dancing, so this was totally up his alley). Very good times, definitely recommend it to the Boston folks, as there are still several more scheduled performances

I've been too afraid to take our almost 5 year old to the local tapas place. And now she's got a 1 year old brother, so tapas are probably out for us for another couple years at least. And thinking of tapas makes me miss some good dim sum.

Hey car folk, random question: how many exhaust manifolds would a ~2005 Mustang have?

Can it have 3?

No. It's a v6/8 so there will be one per side aka 2 total. It does have an intake manifold though so I suppose it has 3 total if you combine intake and exhaust

Congrats, FB!

Re kids and tapas: I actually think they're great kids places. We took a 3-generation trip to Spain this summer and some of our best meals were when we just got a nice assortment of tapas. Because the plates are small and there's usually a variety, you can usually find something even for picky eaters.

Thx. Helping someone pay for some car repairs, and the estimate has a charge for 1 exhaust manifold, but 3 charges for "manifold replacement", so trying to figure out if it makes sense.

So maybe the other two (assuming two exhaust, one intake) manifolds are just being re

definitely great having that variety, but tapas places around here seem to position themselves as fancy date night type places, which was my only hesitation, so it was just a matter of going early. My son is a jamon fan, as am I. Just give me some cheeses, bread and cured meats and I'm a happy guy

Possibly, or the shop being sloppy with their invoicing. It might also be the labor charge.

Did the car have an exhaust leak or something? It would need a gasket as well but that should be itemized or included and not simply added as an extra manifold.

Yeah, exhaust coming through the AC vents basically.

There is an item for a gasket as well, fwiw.

So the invoice is like:

1 exhaust manifold: $150
3 replace manifold: $240 (3 x $80)
1 manifold gasket: $25

It's the "3x replace manifold" that doesn't make sense, since it sounds like one exhaust manifold is being replaced.

Then again this is happening in another state, and I have no idea about car stuff.

That was basically my diet for 2 weeks. Crazy enough, I lost 5 pounds.

I agree with TKP, looks like a labor charge and 3 hours sounds about right on a v6 mustang

A yeah makes sense, thanks bruvs.

Guess that "exposé" I saw on the local news a while back about mechanics overcharging made me paranoid!

Sorry @big john.. I would totally trust you.

Grumble ... dislocated my shoulder yesterday being an idiot on the bike. Was doing a little warm up sprint before trying cross. Road was wet and slick, started to brake into a turn, and the front wheel slipped out. Felt ok for about 5 minutes and then realized something wasn't right.

Docs reset it last night and I have an ortho follow up appointment tomorrow. Hoping for a quick recovery because I hate the trainer.

Sacto Raceway? I was thinking that would be a super slick track. Sorry to hear that. Heal up!

That's the spot. Must have slid a good 50 feet when I went down. I should have been more diligent since I knew it was slick.

If you're anywhere near the Northern Sierras and ski or board, go.

Now!

Cold temps and 20+ of new powpow. Best snow in a longgggg time. Should stay good for a few more days.
