So are the days of our lives...
fuggitivo solitario
I assume you're talking 6770 because you're married to 10s wheels? Using a new 11s group you can use 10/11 cogs, machine freehub to accept more cogs (it's been proven to work with HED and Shimano at the very least), or swap freehub to Campy 11, all workable options. Relace rear hub, buy a new wheel (you cheapskate) or buy a bike with 6770 on it (getting cheaper these days). I wouldn't invest in 6770 though. Like you've noticed the supply is outweighing the demand.
As alluded to by @topflightpro above, retrofitting a CK R45 is expensive...

Lately, I've been finding myself needing to take my morning constitutional as soon as I wake up. This is quite annoying. I'd much rather wait for it to hit once I get to work, so I'm getting paid to do that.

Pretty sure a "morning constitutional" refers to a walk or exercise routine. Sorta sounds like you're talking about pooping.

OTOH, waiting around 45 minutes to an hour before getting on the bike can also get annoying.

Obviously you need to learn how to poop on command.

On the one day junior was allowed to talk to us he said he really really missed the bike. I called up the cycling team captain/kid (per his request) and poor guys are doing it all on their own. They actually seemed to appreciate adults (a new and different thing for me).
There are new rules to learn around collegiate equipment and sponsors. Should be fun. Maybe I can cancel that therapy session.

I was just earlier this week looking at vintage bikes thinking an old 10 speed would be fun. Tonight my wife's grandfather said he was looking to give away his 70s Schwinn 10 speed road bike and asked if I wanted it. Of course I do. No idea what model or how nice it is, but still exciting.

you are right about the last part. worst comes to worst, i cannabilize the 10speed stuff on my TT bike and use it on the road bike. Issue right now is that i have 2 wheels that i can't retrofit. A Zipp 303 that would most likely require a new hub, and a really old 5600 hub that i use for beater purposes.
As alluded to by @topflightpro above, retrofitting a CK R45 is expensive...
eta: My stingers are 11-speed compatible, as are the training wheels for my TT bike

for full disclosure, a buddy converted a wheel and found that in one of his frames with the chain on the 11T cog, and i'm guessing that's why zipp didn't put out an official product like this--they couldn't *guarantee* that every wheel/gear/frame combo would work. his is the only story (and it was just with one bike) i heard of incompatibility.
those older zipps were lighter and more aero. a new 303 is heavier than an older 404. all the more reason to convert.

I've been watching Stranger Things on Netflix. Anybody seen it? Cool stuff. Very '80's thriller/horror feel to it.

The internet says its pretty good. I usually trust the internets' judgement, except in politics, life advice, career planning...well its only really good for movie and TV recommendations.....
