It's really bad. In addition to the "let's go to Jens", the basics are usually way off. Wrong state name used, wrong riders named, picture comes and goes, 3k to the finish so let's cut to a montage, and so on. Vande Velde talks like he's got marbles in his mouth, but at least his info is accurate and relevant, let him talk more. I get that it's all a small event for most of these guys, but sheesh..

Just saw a short clip of the incident. I hope that the camera lens got broken at least. Seriously. Da *****.

Anyone else see the clip with the guy who's arm is bent in the wrong direction? It's never good when cycling makes it on Deadspin. Don't scroll down if you're squeamish seeing body parts out of place.

WOrst is the Milan San Remo crash where a guy either can't corner or his wheels are catching a ton of wind. He ends up doing the same thing to his leg. Like a Barbie doll with the leg put on backward. I have the DVD (it's an add on bit to a different race, escapes me what the main DVD is) and I just cannot watch that part.

Ugh I could've done without seeing that poor Fantini guy's arm.
On the plus side, maybe regular-sport-beasts will now think cycling is cool? Eh, probably not.

Sagan made a fan out of me this weekend. The way he gutted out that mountain stage was impressive, and the intermediate sprint and finishing sprints yesterday were exciting to watch. I think his performance in the last three stages should definitely be enough to shut up Oleg Tinkoff for a while.

I think before this race people thought of him as a natural talent that may not have taken the sport seriously enough. Seeing him finishing on Baldy changed many of those opinions.

So Sky leaves it's GC leader without a shadow to fend for himself when he flats and he loses time and gets a penalty for accepting unauthorized help. Brailsford is upset with the UCI for enforcing rules everyone knows are there.
"It is obviously disappointing that a sporting gesture made in the heat of the moment has resulted in such a strong penalty. No one was trying to gain an unfair advantage."
After building track frames and equipment that were supposedly available for purchase (at a ridiculous prices with years out delivery times), and poaching Wiggans while he was under contract with another team he's the last guy that should be complaining about the "letter" vs. the "spirit" of the rules.

fuggitivo solitario
you also have to wonder why he didn't ride the flat until 3km to go and then hop off. it would have been 5-6 km of riding on a flat tire
