generally a big downer day for me. AC pretty much out of it. TJ totally out of it. Talansky doing his best Sagan interpretation. The winning ride was superb, but I guess I wanted Talansky to catch him. Big time kudos for Sagan giving AC his wheel after the crash.

i'll have to watch tonight, but agree, disappointing day for this AC fanboy who was also rooting for TJVG to be on the podium. It's my understanding that all the contenders, esp Valve and Movistar, hate AC for having beaten them up in the stage races over the years, so despite a 6' deficit, it's not likely he'll get any leash to go for a stage win.

Wife: "Talansky and Hesjedal have no business losing this stage. C-G should be able to put someone up the road."
Me: "Just wait. They'll be sitting at the back when the winning move goes and won't be able to chase it back."
I'm a god damn modern day Nostradamus.

out walking the earth
watching without sound
making up my own commentary
'look at them go downhill. there was a time when I went 79mph down a mountain. that's like 700 kph. I actually broke the sound barrier.'

no. I'm just playing around. sorry. A sure sign of taking something too serious is telling someone else they're taking something too serious. Now hold two mirrors up to each other.
I think maybe this place has more than served it's purpose for me. Oh well.

With TJ out my interest has dropped...the US out of contention I'm down to my third tier of fandom and am now rooting for best in the Western Hemisphere and Geraint Thomas (even though he is conspiring with the english)....unless something drastic happens this thing is over. Of course I'll still watch, its bike racing!

This is why they have black kits..maybe
It would help if there were also some white kits with bucket head helmets though
