I wish I had a cool race name. The best I ever got was Panzer and that stuck for half a season. It wasn't because I was fast, it was because I did a race with a squeaky drivetrain.
Anyway good on him, he must be stoked.

i have been given lots of cool race nicknames, they all seem to start with a d and have 2 syllables.

yeah. sagan getting crashed out by a moto then abandoning (you'd think he'd be the favorite to have won that). TJV and martin bouncing out. the belgian guy in a coma. yuck. even the trek stage winner abandoned right after with a wrist fx.

*AND* Sagan got fined for showing that he was pissed off. What person under similar circumstances would be level headed? A moto takes me out, if I'm still functional I might just deck the driver.

kicked out ha.. Sagan had a right to be pissed, sure, but wasn't very "professional" about it.. yelling at the medical car etc, who knows who else he yelled at.
he was in full on baby mode.

my first impressions of the World Champs Course (based entirely on Zwift. I assume they have made it as true-to-life as possible)
1. I think it's gonna favor a classics specialist, like someone who can win Flanders. Not a climber's course like Liege, also not a flat sprinter's course, so Cav and Greipel will probably get shelled before it's all over.
2. Way more cobbles than expected. There is even a cobble U-turn. That will be interesting.
3. The hills are all back-loaded in the last third of the course, and steep. Very steep. The finish is the least steep, but it is also a fairly long uphill grade. It flattens out at the line.
4. It will be a very fast average speed. Unless it rains.
5. Not many will be left at the end.
6. It seems to favor someone like Sagan, Gilbert, Cancellara (if he was in shape).

i watched the whole stage on youtube after. pulling for him for sure
-froome seemed to have crash himself out at like KM 1 by running into a barrier by himself
-another moto taking out racer...yikes?
-i love when the start feed early enough to show the breakaway forming...as a racer i always find this part fascinating
FYI....typically the full eurosport stages are loaded by someone on youtube by the end of the day. complete with Sean Kelly saying 'well yisss'.
