Thanks to you and @globecanvas, but fwiw I'm honestly not upset about it. It was so odd that there isn't even any hand wringing to be done, it certainly wasn't fitness or tactics related. I guess you race enough and you're bound to have an inexplicably off day on occasion.

Yesterday: I raced, we lost.
@Ygduf was great even though it was his 2nd race of the day. Me & our other guy who had no excuses (1st race of the day) just didn't get it right, missed the break, came in 6th & 8th in the field or thereabouts.
Also I thought I had a points prime so sat up, when 1st place (I'm 3rd overall) came flying by... doh!! Then I went for a points prime later in the race, only to find out later a break of 2 was up the road. doh #2 . So it goes.

Had a crap weekend at the SRS Knoxville races. The crit course has a nasty hill right after the start/finish. And the road race had lots of rolling hills and way more climbing than I've ever done in a day.
9th in the 3/4 crit; 13th in the P123 crit. 15th in the 3/4 road race.
So yeah...hills aren't my thing.

2nd in cat 4 omnium at the track tonight. In scratch race this strong dude Kaan took off with 1.5 to go and I got his wheel, he saw me at the bell and let me under and that was that. But he got me in the final 20 meters 3 times in a row in points. He rides a 56x15 and comes from like 5 wheels back. I took second to him in win and out, sprinting past 3rd by a half wheel at most.
Gonna put in my upgrade to get killed in 1/2/3 next week.

It's a physics thing (weight). And that's 9/16, 13/13, and 15/17. So yeah...bad results. ...also considering I won the crit in the previous SRS, and two flat road races recently. Hills = back of the pack for me.

It doesn't hurt to work on what you consider to be your limiters. I spent my first race season saying "I'm not a sprinter, I suck at crits" and then I worked on that and won some crits this year You are having incredible crit success though, so maybe you just keep focusing on courses that suit you for now. However, don't write yourself off, maybe one season you decide to work on climbing and find you like it and are good at it.

The match of the 35+ cat-2 vs the cat-3 who can't time trial (at least on the TT bike) despite being a diesel. This should be good

i did majorly blew up in June as the first 10 miles or so were straight into the wind; that truly sucked... weather forecast is similar this saturday, so hopefully i have a better pacing strategy and am also a bit stronger
