State Champs. Race 35+/45+ combined. I chose to do the masters race as opposed to 1/2/3 to avoid what I thought would be 84 miles in 95 degree heat. As it turned out it was 60 and raining intermittently. Course was two laps with a 15 minute climb split into three stairsteps pretty soon after the start/finish.
First time up shook the group up, but we stayed together. 2nd time up there were 5 of us over the top and worked well to stay away. I countered an attack about 2.5 miles out from the descent of the big climb and committed hard. Maintained a 20 second gap to the descent, then hammered until I was spun out in places and rode the top tube. Drooling, I hit the short flat before the line and held off the chasers by maybe 10 seconds. All told the finishing effort was about 15 minutes at 110% of FTP, and a solo romp, so all around really gratifying.

@Yep @gsteinb @canuckbelle - nice wins! (I feel like people who like racing enough to frequent a forum about it outperform the average!)
I did the same race as Aaron, the 35+ 123 version.
Small field, windy, kind of odd course with one 160 corner and some bad/bumpy pavement. My kind of race. I even had a strong teammate who covered the first few moves. About 6-7 minutes into the race there's a moderate effort out of the corner. I pulled through and pushed it. Now we have a break of 5-6 guys (out of like 15) with a few seconds. It's super early and I sit in for a lap or two then push out of a corner into a headwind stretch.
To my surprise, no one comes with me. We're only 10 minutes into the race so maybe guys don't want to commit. Anyway, I just did a 46min interval the other day, so wtf. They spotted 3-4 seconds. By the time they realized I was committing it was 10s. Stayed a 10s gap for 3-4 laps then the gap went to 14, then 18, then 25, then 30s for a long time.
By 25min into the race I started catching the first dropped guys. One sat on my wheel for like 4-5 laps, wouldn't pull through but I didn't care. I'll take the 2-3% draft advantage of a lapped dude.
By minute 40 into the race I started getting glimpses of the tail of the pack, a lap down. Dug to catch them but ran out of time. I finished about 20s back of lapping the field, but I'll take it.
Rich for a NorCal race, I split my win and 2 cash primes with my teammate. Kept the beer growler prime to myself, and used the other prime (restaurant gift card in the town) to buy dinner for my wife and I. 4 primes and the top step. Crits, amirite?
Solo effort power for transparency.

p12 race looked to have maybe 35 guys in it as we walked back after dinner. I thought to myself that yeah, when I was scraping for points this is the kind of race I'd have made it a point to come out to, too.

First time pinning on a number post hip replacement. My focus was to stick lap by lap, with the ultimate goal being to finish the race with the pack. My strategy was to hide as much as I could in a smallish field of, I'm guessing, 30-35.
If I may say so myself, I played well the wind, staying reasonably sheltered. There was never a time where I felt I'd get dropped. Although, perhaps I was somewhat close to that line near the end of a 3 lap burst before the halfway point where we averaged just under 28 mph, as a friend came by me and gave me some words of encouragement and to c'mon. I hopped on his wheel, and from that point on I was able to keep myself in a reasonably good position. Whenever I got in a break or a chase, I would cool it after a 1/2 lap or so and keep my focus and goal in mind. I was happy to rejoin the field.
With 4 to go, I was waiting for some fireworks...nothing....3 to go...still somewhat tame...when we hit 2 to go, I knew that I would make my goal. The pace ticked up a bit as we averaged 27.6 mph for the penultimate lap, then down a touch at the bell, and then up to 35 mph +/- with about 1/2 lap to go. I was surprised that I was sticking and feeling good. I was at the end of the lead group, and I deemed the situation worthy enough for me to stand and sprint, which I did. We averaged 25.9 mph for the race, which I interpret as solid on a somewhat windy day.
I'm not fast right now, but, my endurance and recovery are decent. I felt good during the ride home, and I don't feel like I was pounded. Although, we'll see how I feel in the morning.

tour of millers burg (omnium scoring). Mens p123. First time racing this stage race. The RR descent finish into town is FAST holy moly.... for those NE people who know.
19th TT ugh. 11th crit. 12th RR
TT , did 30w avg more, but .1mph than a TT 30 minutes longer. something was wrong here..... dunno 19th
CRIT, so hard..... was OTB then somehow chasing group got me close and i valverde'd them to get back to the front group. Race was shattered, finished 11th of like 18
RR , Gave up on GC like the french and decided to go for stage wins. Didn't chase anything, wanted a bunch finish (i think I'm a decent finisher). 2 then 3 guys went up the rode. 12th.
9th overall

Another day, another win ^_^
Day 2 of Rumble at Roebling Road (circuit race) Women's 3/4. I strategized with a couple girls from another team: the plan was to go for the mid-race prime and just keep drilling it for a break. Unfortunately, one of them decided to do that on the second lap! ...sigh. 5 girl break. A couple juniors in it, one of whom was relentlessly (and thoughtlessly) attacking the breakaway every chance she got. I asked her if she was doing it on purpose, and told her to cool it, or else the group would stop working well. ...she kept doing it, and the breakaway got cagey with lots of slowing down and accelerations. Whatever. Works for me. The girl who initiated the break got frustrated on the second lap and just drilled it, effectively giving me a perfect (PERFECT) lead-out into a stiff headwind. I jumped with about 75m to go, hit a new peak power (1460w) and easily won the sprint. Woo!! My goal is to upgrade to 2 by mid-season next year. I'm on good pace for that I'll upload some videos soon.

...I was determined to be in everything that went up the road. This was a PA points series race and a buddy of mine is leading that series. I had an inside take on the tactics, which basically meant that he and number two wouldn't work with one another in a break. So I followed each attack and counter, went up the road to everything that didn't contain them, and even went up with them at four...I came around him after the last turn for an easy sprint win a few seconds ahead of the field.

I don't get these people: they complain that I'm not pulling (especially when one of them is relentlessly attacking the break), but then they respond by slowing down. They honestly don't get that that *helps* me! They say things like, "Come on, work! They're going to catch us!" And all I'm thinking is: "Fine! That's what I *want*!" I guess they just don't really know how to deal with a sprinter. ...so each time they effectively end up dragging me to the line and it's a simple win. If they just put their heads down and drilled it, they could have dropped me halfway through the race.

Red Kite crit, 2 races, 2 poor finishes.
3/4 I watched the strong guys and went for break attemps when they did but we couldn't get away. Sprint finish, I'm 5th wheel at turn 3 of 4. Al attacks hard for a ling sprint and everyone goes. He held them off, but I didn't have a good jump, and was on the wrong side in the cross wind. Still accelerating at the line at around 37/38 mph but dropped way back and got 17th of around 50.
2/3 worked pretty hard, 3 teammates in the race. 20 minutes in I was hurting, teammate drifted back and sent me up to follow attacks. So, I found some power and covered em all for a good 10 or 15 minutes. A few minutes after I dropped back the pace steadied for a while and I realized guys were fading a tad, thought something would get away. Moved up, teammate got in a move but it was a BIG break. When guys started bridging I followed. Pack finally came back together as the bridge was fading. Chill out at the back a bit, waiting for field sprint. Big team lines it up at the front so I find my teammates. "Shouldnt we move up?" "Go for it". So I go to move up but they aren't coming with. I wait around a bit, last lap, turn one I see some orange get behind me and hear a voice tell me to go. So I hammer like mad, get to turn 2 near the front and start to fade down to the other teams leadout pace. So I tell him to get on that train, and I drop out the back. He had perfect position, but when I found him afterwards he says his brake locked up a bit. Dammit, no results. 12th or something.

Tokeneke - 10th. 3x22mi laps with 2000ft of climbing per lap. Felt meh coming into it, played too much bike games on the second lap, paid for it on the finishing climb and got popped 2/3rds of the way up. Such is bike racing, had a straight up blast playing caveman during the middle of it.

Back to earth today. Red Kite 35+ - made sure the guys behind me got no prime points, but nothing got away. Struggled to a top-10 in the field sprint. Not my worst, not my best. Minimized losses but ended the race feeling like I had 40% more to give.

Red Kite p/1/2, lost. 12th race in the series - when they said that I was like "holy **** has it been that many?!"
3rd overall in the omnium, but 4th & 5th are chomping at the bit. 2nd is my team mate who might miss some of the future races. 1st is pretty much out of reach unless something drastic happens.
Been sick all week, said I was gonna wait to do anything active; so of course I was in the first break from the gun.. idiot.
But I quickly felt the effects of phlegm all up in my throat, and didn't do my fair share of work. We got caught by a chase group, that turned in to The Break of the day. Was in that for a bit, but dropped out. Ugh.
Did take a (points) prime, so I gained a few points on #1 but not much.
Team wasn't prepared to chase or bridge, neither was I, so we sat in the losers' group. I sat on the back, closing gaps that of course opened up.
Anyway 3rd in the field sprint for 11th. Bleh. Still 3rd in the omnium but started to wonder if I should start racing for the general win in stead of stupid omnium points nobody cares about!

great job everyone!
Tokeneke (ct and new england road race championships) cat 3 - honest, one of my favorite road races - neck and neck with sunapee. but i've definitely had a tumultuous history here...the first couple times i did it i was OTB so fast it was embarrassing. anyway, first lap this year was pretty standard. second lap things started to heat up a bit and when we hit the second big climb at the end of lap two i was in great position and watched the fast guys attacking know it was THE move, but didn't have the legs to follow. ended up in a chase group of about 7 guys and we caught back on just at the beginning of the climb at the beginning of lap three. somehow recovered from that effort and made what was the selection of the race up that climb of about 20 guys. unfortunately kind of blew up on the finishing climb and could only salvage 17th/60-ish starters. Whatever though, i'm really happy with the day. the field was really really watty and aggressive so I'm happy with how I rode. the second half of this summer has definitely been a huge confidence booster compared to the first half. slowly, steadily, climbing up that ladder. finally feel like i'm improving over where i was two years ago after what was a wasted season last year.

Mikey - Well done in a challenging race where one's finishing place is earned.
TKP - Would we expect you to not get super animated during some point in the race? Top 10 is sweet.
aaronmcd - I don't know you too well on BF, and I'm in a state where I am happy to ride again (setting context); your results didn't sound poor to me and much of the racing sounded good. However, dissatisfaction with some elements of each race, yeah, sure.
Matt - There are still more races to go in the series?! Good job hanging tough.
Fudgy - Maybe there are other outlets for that 40%?
