As of now, I plan on racing all the Ontario / Glen Helen races plus Redlands, and will schedule the rest according to form / wife approval. UCLA is probably a go however I need to drop some pounds between now and then

Here is the Southern California Nevada Cycling Association event list. The list posted above may be incomplete.

For example, there is a Santiago Canyon Time Trial on April 25th not listed above. My wife and I are racing this one as well as any other TTs in SoCal such as those on Fiesta Island when our schedule permits.

Last year there were 4 Santiago Canyon TTs but due to low racer turnout, they are only scheduling 2 this year. If participation is better on the one in April, they may increase the number.

IMO, this is one of the best TTs in NorCal and SoCal with a challenging 11.5 mile course featuring an opening climb. My wife and I raced the last one in November 2014 and the turnout was poor. Our 60+ 1/2/3/4/5 field had 8 entrants and the largest group. The elite turnout was piss poor. Doge and his juniors were there.

This is just a reminder that if we want to have races, we must support them by A registering early and B actually racing.

And at the track, Velo Sports Center is promoting is LAVRA TT and mass start series at Carson, CA. The track schedule is here.

My wife and I plan on racing most of the LAVRA TT series.

Thanks, I used usacycling.org and socalcycling.com as resources, which were missing a lot of events. I've updated the schedule with the SCNCA calendar and posted links to both Velodrome Calendars.

Does anyone know of a public place around Ontario where I can take a shower? srs question lol.

After the Icebreaker crit on Sunday, my gf is going to show me around her old college stomping grounds. She is an alumnus of Claremont Mckenna. I'd rather not be stinky and sweaty.

that works.

I think for the helmet head hair, I can just dump some water from a gallon jug over my dome

ICE Breaker - We (team we) got race at 10:11, then one at 4:15. The kids will be sporting their new kits and maybe Puppy will have his new bike. We are leaving Europe today and puppy is looking forward to riding back in SoCal.

Race Day tomorrow!

70% chance of rain, its going to be interesting to see how many people show up if its pouring. I'm going regardless and plan to attack if the weather is poor.

Puppy will race 17-18 regardless - he says - as he's getting to know the team. We are half the field with 12 riders of 22.

The P123 @ 4:00 we are hoping is dry. For first race of the season, having a downpour might not be a good choice.

That is an interesting point. We skip cross and just do road. The Colorado kids do cross. Seems while some SoCal kids do - most don't. 4 of our team was working pursuit at the indoor track yesterday. Its 90 min drive but is the better off season choice around here - IMO. The MTB guys mostly stay that way all year and/or are rec riders. As this year there is a small chance this season will end late Sept, we have scheduled breaks. For Puppy - he was riding in Europe last 2 weeks and just got back Wed, so he's certainly not peaked, nor planning to be.
Often this race today is used as a testing new stuff and team race, or catch some upgrade points for someone else that needs them. The rain may make lots of riders bag it.

The Boulevard RR is the first serious race in SoCal. Then VOS in Phoenix Feb 15.

I'm not talking about 'you.' but the calendar in general. Surely there's cross as well?

Before the race; cold, wet, and miserable. After the race; cold, wet, and miserable. During the race, Fun!

Met @Doge, who is a cool dude and nothing like I expected him to be. Looked like he was hanging out with a bunch of dads with puppy racers. Sorry I had to cut it short.

Race report is up!

Unfortunately, I didn't bring my gopro, but there were a few during my race. I'll probably record the next few.

It was wet !! we were there since 5:00 AM kids had 3 races each, it was a really good turn out considering the weather. CAT 5 got to race when the rain was coming down really good, ther was 1 crash when someone got a blow out and that took out one of our team members. rain was on and off.

Sucks. Was this from a previous injury?

It was from lifting a 200 lb piece of equipment multiple times and then cycling after. I did tear it 2 years ago which probably didn't help.

Right now its just really tight and sore. Probably a grade 1 strain. It twinges even during easy rides, so any cycling is out for at least a few days =\
