I'd have spaghetti (or other pasta) the day before
the event, carb loading can't hurt.
You'll want somthing that will provide energy the day
of the event that is easily digested etc.
maybe a bowl of oatmeal before you leave? I'd carry
an energy bar (cliff bar) as part of lunch.
