There are Mongooses and there are Mongooses. As when the brand was owned by Brunswick Sports (the pool table and bowling ball people) and now by Pacific Cycles (the huge Taiwanese conglomerate that also owns the Schwinn and GT brands), there are many Mongoose-badged bikes that are not true Mongoose bikes. They are cheapies that Pacific has cranked out of its OEM factory in Taiwan and slapped the badge on to go to discount outlets to capitalize on the name-recognition. If it's not a model on the Mongoose web site, it is one of those 'second tier' products.
