Hi everyone! I thought I'd chime in about food options.

Cuda and I are willing to drive a fair bit, since it seems that SoCal BFers are pretty spread out. I've come up with a few options, but please feel free to suggest other places! We're trying to stay away from national chain restaurants if possible.

Koreatown:
El Cholo http://www.elcholo.com/ My favorite Mexican restaurant when I was at USC, and I still try to visit during the summer for their green corn tamales. Also has a Santa Monica location. Good margaritas.

Monterey Park:
If anyone lives out that way and has good Chinese restaurant recommendations, we're all ears. I've been to Ocean Star for dim sum, but since we're thinking of having a dinner get-together, dim sum won't be possible.

Marina Del Rey:
Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch http://auntkizzys.com/dinner.htm
Southern Food, no alcohol though.

Long Beach:
Johnny Reb's http://www.johnnyrebs.com/JR_Main.html
Southern Food, 2004 Zagat Guide choice for Best BBQ in LA. Beer and wine.

Pasadena:
I remember there being a lot of Italian restaurants here. Any suggestions? I think I was at Carmine's once and remembered the food as being good.

Irvine:
Taiko - Sushi, Japanese food. Beer and wine.

Too bad In-N-Out doesn't have tables to eat in.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!
