Barends on alloy bars

Great post, thanks for the info! Several weeks ago I asked on here if bar end shifters could be used on Northroad bars......NOW, thanks to you, I know the answer!
I like the ride of my Schwinn Suburban (northroad style bars but stem mounted shifters) so well I am thinking of converting my 1990 Bianchi Alfana to northroads with barends! I'm also looking at another bike as a possibility!
